Mahindra Scorpio N Based Global Vision Pik Up Concept Unveiled

Mahindra has pulled the wraps off the Global Vision Pik Up at the ongoing Futurescape global event in Cape Town, South Africa. The Scorpio N pickup truck is built on a next-generation ladder frame chassis.

Mahindra & Mahindra has enhanced the celebration of Independence Day by pulling the wraps off the new models and concepts at its Futurescape global event in Cape Town, South Africa. The Scorpio N SUV is a hot seller in India, as proven by its sales and present long waiting list. Based on this sports utility vehicle, the automaker has designed the pick-up truck concept, which has finally been unveiled in South Africa. According to Mahindra, ASEAN, Australia, India, South Africa, and South and Central America are all potential markets for the new Global Vision Pik Up. In addition, the vehicle has been created with user safety in mind and has received five-star safety ratings from GNCAP and Latin NCAP.

For those unaware, the automaker teased the Global Vision Pik Up on its social media accounts a while back, and ever since, there has been a lot of online conjecture about its characteristics. The auto giant, however, has offered a glimpse at the vehicle's looks, features, and specifications as part of its official unveiling. So without further ado, let's know the specifics of this recently revealed concept. 

Global Vision Pik Up: Chassis & Powertrain

The Global Vision Pik Up will have a high-strength steel ladder frame chassis. It will be powered by a 2.2-litre MHawk turbo diesel engine, capable of producing 170bhp and 400Nm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The vehicle will also be available with a 4x4 system featuring a low-range gearbox and terrain response options.

Global Vision Pik Up: Features 

Zip, Zap, Zoom, and custom drive modes will be available on the new Pik Up. Aside from this, 5G connectivity, semi-automatic parking, a single-pane sunroof, and more amenities will also be included. In terms of safety, the vehicle gets Level-2 ADAS, Trailer Sway Mitigation, All-Around Airbag Protection, Drowsy Driver Detection and more features.

Global Vision Pik Up: Styling

The new Mahindra pickup concept has a sturdy appearance featuring a bold front profile accented by a black grille displaying Mahindra's trademark logo in the centre. The bumper is ornamented with a bash plate and tow hooks on the lower half, which according to Mahindra, adds to the vehicle's tough appearance. It has received a fog lamp assembly, encased by a black frame, and a large bonnet. Other design highlights of the vehicle include black plastic cladding on the wheel arches, a snorkel (for water-wading capability), off-road tyres, and more. 

At the rear, the concept sports a tailboard with 'Mahindra' badging, vertically stacked taillamps, a bumper with two tow hooks, and a spare wheel located within the bed. It also gets an expanded wheelbase that allows for a larger load bed area. In its official press statement, Mahindra asserted that ''Characterized by its strong design, the Global Pik Up reflects both resilience and elegance. Its exterior is built to withstand demanding conditions, while its interior offers comfort and ample space''.
