Kia has revealed the Carens Clavis EV ahead of its launch in India on July 15, 2025. The e-MPV is similar to the ICE model, but it incorporates minor updates that highlight its electric nature. For instance, the traditional grille is replaced by a sealed one with a charging port. Moreover, the EV has aero-tuned alloy wheels. Inside, the dashboard and the 7-seat layout are familiar. However, the EV features a white and black colour scheme. This combination is found on the lower versions of the ICE Carens Clavis. The storage space is more in the EV as the traditional gear selector is no longer a part of the centre console.
While powertrain details are still under wraps, Kia has confirmed that the electric iteration will have a claimed range of 490 kilometres (MIDC). Read on for more details.

Kia hasn't revealed full specs as of now; however, the Carens Clavis EV is likely to feature a panoramic sunroof and automatic climate control. Based on the teaser, there will be two screens: one for entertainment and the other for information. Other possible amenities include a high-end sound system and powered and ventilated front seats.

In terms of safety, the e-MPV is expected to have an electronic parking brake with auto hold, six airbags (standard), front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, and Level-2 ADAS.
While the teaser confirms that the upcoming Carens Clavis EV will have a range of 490 kilometres, battery options are still unknown. However, industry reports suggest that Kia could offer two battery options, likely a 42kWh and a 51.4kWh, with the upcoming model (similar to the Creta electric). The car may also use a front-mounted motor.
