Kia Motors India will launch the Carnival MPV in three trims: Premium, Prestige & Limousine. Post its launch, the Carnival will become the most powerful MPV in the country!

We recently reported that the Kia Carnival will be launched in India at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020. However, to keep the excitement levels high, Kia Motors India (KMI) has revealed the features & variant details of the Carnival as a build-up to its launch. The Carnival will go on sale in three variants: Premium (available as a 7- or 8-seater), Prestige (available as a 7- or a 9-seater)  & Limousine (available exclusively as a 7-seater). Of the three seating configurations, the 7-seater option will be up for grabs with either standard captain seats (individual seats) or 'Luxury VIP' seats (individual seats with extending leg rests) in the middle row. The 9-seater option will feature a four-row layout.

As mentioned above, the Carnival will become the most powerful MPV in the country at the time of its launch That's because it'll be powered by a BS-VI compliant 2.2-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine that's been tuned to belt out 197bhp & 440Nm of torque. Those figures are significantly higher than those of the Innova Crysta and even the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. The 2.2-litre unit will be paired to an 8-Speed Sportsmatic transmission.

The Kia Carnival isn't just endowed with a load of power. In fact, its feature list is impressive as well. The entry-level Premium variant will be offered with features like a touchscreen infotainment system (with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay), steering-mounted audio controls (6 speaker audio system), rear-view camera & parking sensors, cruise control, Smart key with push-button stop/start, front & rear disc brakes, etc.

As for the top-spec Limousine trim, it'll be loaded with premium features like a three-zone auto climate control, powered sliding rear doors, a Harman Kardon 8-speaker sound system, air purifier, electronic parking brake, 10-way adjustable powered driver’s seat with ventilation, wireless smartphone charging, smartwatch connectivity and two 10.1-inch touchscreens for the rear-seat passengers. The Limousine variant will also get Kia's UVO connected car tech (with a free three-year subscription).

Expect Kia to launch the Carnival somewhere near the ₹26 lakh mark for the base Premium variant.
