Kia India achieves new sales milestone, 5 lakh units sold since debut in 2019

The Seltos continues to be Kia's best-selling car in the country. 

In just three years after it opened its act in India, Kia has achieved a new sales milestone of 5 lakh units in the country. The Korean carmaker made its debut in the country with the Seltos SUV and ever since, has frequently made it to the list of best-selling cars in the country. 

The company has been in tight competition with Mahindra and Mahindra for the fourth best-selling car company in the country. The brand put up a strong opening act in India with the Seltos, which quickly grew to be one of the most popular cars in the country. 

Apart from that, with its latest three-row offering, Carens has significantly contributed to achieving the milestone earlier than expected. Since its launch five months ago, the Carens has helped Kia sell the last one lakh units. Kia also announced that it has produced 6.34 lakh vehicles from its Anantpur manufacturing facility so far, which also includes exports. 

Kia’s India operations make up more than 6% of the global sales. While the Carens has garnered impressive response, the Seltos continues to be Kia’s best-selling model in the country with a share of nearly 60% of the total sales. This means that 4 out of every 10 mid-size SUVs sold in India is a Seltos.
