Mahindra has launched the facelifted XUV300 SUV – a close rival to the Tata Nexon – in the Indian market. Carrying a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the compact SUV (dubbed the XUV 3XO) is about Rs 66,000 less expensive than the entry-level Tata Nexon Smart. For 2024, the new XUV 3XO brings a design that draws inspiration from Mahindra's range of BE electric vehicles, as well as additional features and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic. Instead of the old nomenclature, the SUV now uses a new variant nomenclature. As a result, it comes in the following trim levels: MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 L, AX7, and AX7 L. It joins the Tata Nexon – available in Smart, Smart+, Smart+ S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+, Creative+ S, Fearless, Fearless S and Fearless+ S variants – in the sub-compact SUV segment. Here, we compare the Mahindra XUV 3XO with the Tata Nexon to see how they stack up in terms of powertrain, features, and price.
