SUV buyers in India have plenty to look forward to in 2026, with a host of highly anticipated launches in the pipeline. The Mahindra XUV 7XO will strengthen Mahindra’s presence with its bold styling, advanced triple-screen cabin, and modern features that appeal to tech-savvy buyers. Meanwhile, the third-generation Renault Duster will make its long-awaited return with a redesigned exterior and upgraded features. Beyond these, more SUVs from manufacturers such as Kia and Maruti Suzuki are also set to expand the segment. So, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming SUVs in India.

Expected Price: Rs 11.20 - 22 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kia will reveal prices for the new Seltos in India on January 2, 2026. The SUV comes in four variants: HTE, HTK, HTX, and GTX, with an exclusive X-Line package available on the GTX. Built on the new global K3 platform, the engine lineup remains unchanged, including 1.5-litre petrol (naturally aspirated and turbo) and diesel options. Exterior updates include a digital tiger-nose grille, dark metallic accents, vertical LED elements, squared-off headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, flush-fit door handles, and redesigned LED taillamps.

Inside, the Seltos features a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel, dual 12.3-inch screens, ventilated adjustable seats with memory and relaxation functions, a Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless charging, drive and traction modes, a head-up display, and Kia Connect 2.0 with OTA updates.

Mahindra will introduce the much-anticipated XUV 7XO in India on January 5, 2026. Essentially an updated version of the XUV700, the SUV features a redesigned grille inspired by the XEV 9S and revised taillights. Recent teasers reveal dual-pod projector headlamps, blacked-out ORVMs, dynamic turn indicators, and dual-tone alloy wheels. Inside, it gets a wide triple-screen layout integrating the digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen and front passenger display, along with a beige and tan cabin theme, powered boss mode, illuminated two-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Engine options (2.0‑litre turbo and 2.2-litre diesel) remain unchanged.
Expected Price: Rs 10.50 lakh (starting, ex-showroom)
The Nissan Tekton SUV, unveiled in October, will make its debut in India in early 2026 and be launched later that year. It draws inspiration from Nissan’s Patrol, and has smooth body contours, flared wheel arches, roof rails, and redesigned alloy wheels. The mid-size SUV, based on the CMF-B modular platform shared with the new Renault Duster, will see extensive localisation to cut costs and improve production efficiency. Engine options remain undisclosed, though Nissan has confirmed a hybrid variant for the future, potentially sharing technology with the third-generation Duster.

Expected Price: Rs 17 lakh (starting, ex-showroom)
Maruti Suzuki is expected to reveal prices for its first-ever electric SUV, the e Vitara, in early 2026. The SUV features a polyhedral design and muscular stance, slim Y-shaped LED DRLs, a blacked-out bumper, fog lamps, a silver skid plate, sharp body lines, sculpted surfaces, heavy door cladding, prominent wheel arches, wraparound LED taillamps, a shark fin antenna, and 18-inch dual-tone aerodynamic alloy wheels.
Inside, the Maruti Suzuki e-SUV offers a dual-screen setup with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.1-inch digital driver display, an Infinity sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with PM2.5 filter. Mechanically, the car will be front-wheel drive only, with two battery options – 49kWh (142bhp, 344 km WLTP) and 61kWh (172bhp, 543 km ARAI) –available across Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants.
Maruti Suzuki aims to make owning the e Vitara convenient by providing access to more than 2,000 dedicated charging points across 1,100 cities, supported through partnerships with 13 charging network providers.

Renault is set to reintroduce the Duster in its third-generation avatar to India on January 26, 2026. Built on the CMF-B modular platform, the SUV features redesigned front and rear bumpers, a grille with Renault’s latest logo, and signature Y-shaped LED lighting at both ends. While retaining the classic Duster proportions, it comes with squared wheel arches and wide cladding for a rugged stance. Inside, the cabin offers a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging.

The Duster is said to initially launch with petrol engines, including a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol producing 151bhp and 250Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic, while lower trims may feature a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated or 1.0-litre turbo petrol. Renault is also exploring a hybrid variant for the future to expand its powertrain offerings.
