Only 15 units of the new MINI Clubman Indian Summer Red Edition are coming to India. Bookings (online only) open on 15th February at Amazon.in

MINI India had launched the Clubman here in December 2016. And now, after three years, the brand has brought the updated version to our shores. Yes. In essence, the MINI Clubman Indian Summer Red Edition is nothing but the facelift model of the Clubman that was globally introduced last year in April. However, as only 15 units of the car are coming here this time, MINI thought it best to offer the car exclusively with the Indian Summer Red Metallic colour option. Launched at ₹44.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the new MINI Clubman is more expensive by about ₹3.7 lakh than the outgoing model. However, this time too, the Clubman has been brought here in the Cooper S guise.

Like before, the new MINI Clubman is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower turbo petrol motor that pushes out 189bhp & 280Nm of torque (unchanged from before). But now, all the power is sent to the front wheels via a new 7-speed dual-clutch Steptronic transmission, replacing the earlier 8-speed automatic unit.

The biggest change, however, is the car's revised exterior. With no changes to the car's silhouette, the new MINI Clubman features a reworked front fascia - courtesy of a new grille, reprofiled central air dam and new LED lighting units (both the headlamps as well as the fog lamps). Moreover, the grille's surrounding trim (and other exterior trim bits like ORVM caps) get the Piano Black Exterior treatment. The rear bumper now gets similar air intakes as the front bumper and new LED taillamps are standard (with the new Union Jack Design motif). Also new are the 17-inch net-spoke light-alloy wheels.
