Tata Sierra is set to make a return with its official launch on 25 November 2025, bringing back a name many Indian buyers remember. Tata Motors will introduce the SUV in both internal combustion and electric versions to reach a wide customer base. The new Sierra will compete in the compact SUV segment against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. This launch helps Tata connect its heritage with its modern mobility plans. It also expands the brand’s SUV portfolio and gives buyers more choices across fuel types and technology.

With growing demand for compact SUVs, Tata aims to position the Sierra as a strong option that matches current market needs while carrying forward a known identity.
The new Tata Sierra blends cues from the earlier model with a design that meets present SUV standards. It carries a wide grille, LED headlamps, roof rails and clean body lines. At the rear, the SUV includes LED tail lamps and a spoiler to support stable airflow. These updates help the Sierra maintain its familiar character while meeting expectations for practicality and structure on today’s roads.
The cabin of the Sierra focuses on space and simple usability. A flat rear floor increases room for the middle passenger. The dashboard features multiple screens, including a digital driver display and an infotainment unit that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other key features include dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and a powered tailgate, adding convenience for daily use.
The Sierra will be available with petrol and diesel engines at launch, followed by an electric version. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces 168bhp and 280Nm, while the 1.5-litre diesel produces 120bhp and 260Nm. Both engines will come with manual and automatic gearbox choices. The electric variant will join soon after and support Tata’s wider EV plans in the domestic market.
Prices for the new Sierra are expected to start at around Rs 15 lakh and go up to around Rs 25 lakh for the higher variants. The SUV will be positioned above the Curvv but below the Harrier and Safari in Tata’s portfolio, targeting buyers seeking a compact model with multiple powertrain choices.
