Honda Cars India is all set to bring the highly-anticipated City facelift with mid-life updates. Rumour has it that the Japanese automaker intends to launch the revised version of the sedan in March 2023. The new-gen model will have minor exterior and interior updates, with the same powertrain. A few months ago, the facelifted version was reported to have been spotted on Indian roads, covered in a thick camouflage. Even though the specifics were barely noticeable, several improvements were speculated to be made in the rear profile, including a wider cutout for tail lights. Mechanically speaking, there will be two powertrain options available with the model - a 1.5-litre normally aspirated petrol engine that could generate 121bhp and a 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle petrol hybrid that could produce 126bhp. Honda will not offer the diesel engine option due to the upcoming emission norms in India.

On the outside, a redesigned grille, updated headlamps, and a new bumper are anticipated to be new. However, there won't be many modifications to the side profile, but new alloy wheel designs will probably be included. In terms of interior, the Honda City facelift will be the same as the standard version but might come with wireless charging and ventilated seats. As for the prices, the facelifted model is expected to cost more than the standard variant because of cosmetic improvements. The Honda City is currently offered between Rs 11.87 lakh and Rs 15.62 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The price of the Hybrid ZX eHEV version is Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

They will reportedly compete against the likes of the models such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, the Tata Nexon, the Hyundai Creta, and more in the country.
