Suzuki has rolled out Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in the three-door Jimny in Japan, marking a big update for the compact off-roader. Scheduled to go on sale on 4 November 2025, the model now features Level 2 driver assistance for the first time. With this update, Suzuki aims to combine the Jimny’s off-road ability with modern safety technology. The upgrade is part of the brand’s global effort to keep the model competitive in markets where advanced safety systems are increasingly becoming standard.

The 2026 Jimny features a suite of Level 2 ADAS functions including collision damage mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure prevention, and rearward false-start prevention. These systems allow limited autonomous operation under specific conditions, improving driver support and overall safety. Suzuki has also revised the exterior with redesigned front and rear bumpers. The inclusion of Suzuki Connect further enhances functionality, offering real-time tracking, emergency alerts, and remote updates.
In Japan, the Suzuki Jimny is powered a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in the Sierra version and a 658cc turbocharged petrol engine in the kei car version. The 1.5-litre engine produces around 102bhp, while the smaller 658 cc unit delivers 62bhp. Both engine options are offered with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system remains standard across both versions
In India, the Jimny remains available only in its five-door version, launched in 2023 and built locally by Maruti Suzuki. Although it continues to draw interest for its off-road performance, the India-spec version currently lacks ADAS systems. The debut of Maruti Suzuki’s Victori SUV, featuring Level 2 ADAS, has prompted speculation about whether similar technologies could be introduced to other vehicles in future.
