Tata Motors has launched the much-awaited electric version of its popular Harrier SUV in India. The Harrier EV is offered in four colours—Empowered Oxide, Nainital Nocturne, Pristine White, and Pure Grey—along with a bold Stealth Edition. Buyers can choose from three main variants: Adventure, Fearless, and Empowered. While the EV retains much of the design language of its ICE sibling, subtle styling tweaks and EV-specific elements give it a distinct character. Here's a breakdown of what sets the electric Harrier apart from its ICE counterpart.
The Harrier EV retains the bold and muscular stance of its diesel counterparts but introduces a few EV-specific design cues to set it apart. Most notably, it swaps the traditional black grille for a sleeker, blanked-off version, signaling its electric identity.
While the vertically stacked LED headlamps and connected LED DRLs remain unchanged, the EV features subtle tweaks like a silver accent on the C-pillar—replacing the black finish on the ICE model. Shared elements include the rugged black cladding, black outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), roof rails, and 19-inch alloy wheels, although the EV’s wheels feature aerodynamic inserts to slightly improve efficiency.

Visually, the rear end of the Harrier EV stays true to the ICE variant with familiar elements like a roof spoiler, and an LED light bar.
The EV retains the same black bumper and silver skid plate design, but adds a touch of uniqueness with vertical slats. Unlike the regular Harrier, the Harrier EV offers a camera in its shark fin antenna for rear traffic viewing on the IRVM.
Despite sharing a dashboard layout with its ICE counterpart, the Harrier EV's cabin stands out with a distinctive white and grey aesthetic, reminiscent of the Curvv EV. In contrast, the ICE Harrier offers more interior colour flexibility. In terms of tech, the EV holds a discernible advantage. It is equipped with a segment-leading 14.5-inch Harman infotainment system featuring a Samsung Neo QLED display. Furthermore, the EV integrates functionalities such as digital key access, DrivePay, a front-seat boss mode, off-road assist, and an expanded array of six terrain modes. The ICE Harrier, conversely, is restricted to Normal, Wet, and Rough drive modes. For enhanced convenience and safety, the EV also incorporates e-valet, Summon modes, and a best-in-class 540-degree surround camera system.
While both Harrier SUVs come well-equipped with safety features like hill hold and descent control, 7 airbags (6 standard), electronic parking brake with auto hold, and Level-2 ADAS, the EV step up its game with a digital IRVM and auto park assist.
While sharing its nameplate with the ICE version, the Harrier EV stands apart with a stronger powertrain. The diesel-powered Harrier is front-wheel drive and capped at 170bhp, the EV switches to a rear-wheel-drive layout as standard, with an optional all-wheel-drive dual-motor setup. The single-motor Harrier EV delivers strong performance with 235bhp sent to the rear wheels. However, it's the dual-motor setup that truly elevates the game—pairing a 156bhp motor at the front with the rear unit to unleash a combined output of 391bhp and 504Nm of torque. In Boost mode, the Harrier EV achieves 0 to 100km/h in just 6.3 seconds, cutting the ICE model’s time by nearly half. For improved ride and handling, the EV gets an all-independent suspension system, with a multi-link rear and frequency-selective dampers.
The Tata Harrier EV is priced from Rs 21.49 lakh, notably higher than the diesel variant, which starts at Rs 15 lakh and goes up to Rs 26.50 lakh.
