Tata Motors has unveiled the petrol variants of the Harrier and Safari ahead of their India launch. Besides the much-anticipated 1.5-litre Hyperion Turbo Petrol engine, the SUVs come with new variants and features. Diesel has long been the preferred choice in India’s SUV segment, and Tata’s focus on offering the Harrier and Safari as diesel models made sense for years. However, with petrol SUVs gaining popularity among modern buyers who value smoothness, ease of use, and refinement, Tata Motors has finally introduced the option to its lineup. Let's break down the key features of the Harrier and the Safari Petrol in detail.

Tata Motors has expanded the lineup of both SUVs with new variants. For the Harrier, the all-new Fearless Ultra and its special Red Dark edition are now available. Similarly, the Safari gains the Accomplished Ultra and Accomplished Ultra 6-seater, along with exclusive Red Dark editions for both.
The Harrier and Safari keep their core design in the petrol guise, with subtle refinements like the bold Nitro Crimson shade. Inside, the Harrier features an Oyster White and Titan Brown interior with a dual-tone Titan wood dashboard, while the Safari offers a red-themed cabin with leatherette seats and steel black accents. Key common highlights include a 14.5-inch OLED infotainment screen, sliding armrest, and a Dolby Atmos-supported 10-speaker JBL system.

At the heart of the new Harrier and Safari petrol variants lies Tata’s 1.5‑litre Hyperion Turbo Petrol engine, borrowed from the recently launched Tata Sierra. However, this engine has been tuned to produce about 168bhp and 280Nm, which is slightly higher than the tune used in the Sierra. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
