Tata Nexon SUV Gets 5 New Affordable AMT Variants; Prices Start at Rs 10 Lakh

The Tata Nexon is among the most well-liked models in the compact SUV segment. In terms of sales, it has performed fairly well in the market and continues to do so in its latest avatar. Recently, the Indian carmaker introduced the Dark Edition of the SUV to boost sales numbers. Making another move in this direction, Tata has also revised the variant line-up of the Nexon, which now includes five new variants featuring automatic manual transmissions (AMT). The ex-showroom prices for these begin at Rs 10 lakh. For the uninitiated, the Nexon was redesigned last year, and the AMT option was only offered in higher trims – the Creative variant onwards. However, following the latest update, the base models like Smart Plus, Pure, and Pure S also come with an AMT gearbox. The Diesel AMT variant can be had in the SUV's Pure and Pure S trim levels.

Tata Nexon SUV: Variant-wise Price

The price of the new Nexon Petrol Smart Plus petrol AMT variant stands at Rs 10 lakh, while the Petrol Pure petrol AMT costs Rs 10.50 lakh. The Petrol Pure S variant carries a price tag of Rs 11 lakh. As for the prices of the Pure S Diesel AMT and the Pure Diesel AMT, they cost Rs 12.30 lakh and Rs 11.80 lakh, respectively. The starting price of the SUV is Rs 8.15 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. 

Tata Nexon SUV: Feature Set

The base-spec Nexon Smart+ is equipped with LED DRLs, a seven-inch touchscreen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four speakers, electrically adjustable ORVMs, drive modes, six airbags, an electronic stability control (ESC), and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The Pure trim is equipped with features such as full LED headlights and tail lamps, wheel coverings, touch-based HVAC controls, a knitted roof liner, roof rails, rear AC vents, and voice commands. Meanwhile, the Pure S variant has additional features like electrochromic IRVM, an automatic headlight and wiper system, and a sunroof.

Tata Nexon SUV: Powertrain Options

A 1.5-litre diesel unit and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit are the two engine options for the Tata Nexon. The diesel engine produces 113bhp of maximum power and 260Nm of peak torque, while the turbocharged petrol mill generates 118bhp and 170Nm of maximum torque. Moreover, six-speed MT, six-speed AMT, seven-speed DCT (with paddle shifters), and five-speed MT are the available transmission options.

Tata Nexon Dark Edition

Tata Motors recently introduced the Nexon Dark Edition, priced at Rs 11.45 lakh (ex-showroom). This new edition has an appealing all-black exterior paint job and is adorned with multiple #Dark badges. Other design elements of the SUV include alloy wheels, roof rails, ORVMs, and a blacked-out front grille. However, it is also worth noting that, except for these modifications, the car is still the same as the standard model. The Dark Edition's interior is all black, with black leatherette seats and embroidered 'Dark' lettering on the headrests.
