Tata Safari and Harrier SUVs Become Expensive by Rs 20,000 in India

The prices of the Harrier and the Safari have been increased by Rs 20,000. Both the manual and automatic variants of the vehicles are affected by the price change. Let's take a look at the updated prices of these models.

Tata Motors formally announced the price increase for its entire passenger portfolio, which includes both petrol and electric vehicles, in the Indian market, effective from July 17. The prices of the Harrier and Safari SUVs have increased by Rs 20,000. Both the manual and automatic variants are affected by the price change. However, customers who made bookings before July 17 will not have to bear the brunt of this price hike. After the price increase, the Harrier now retails between Rs 15.20 lakh and Rs 24.27 lakh, while the Safari's prices range from Rs 15.85 lakh to Rs 25.22 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom). For those unaware, the automaker is preparing to launch the facelifted models of these two SUVs shortly in India.

Tata Harrier Price Hike

The prices of both the MT and AMT models of the Harrier SUV have been raised by Rs 20,000. The standard XE MT trim's cost has increased from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 15.20 lakh or 1.33%. With a 1.22% price increase from the previous pricing of Rs 16.45 lakh, the XM variant is now available for Rs 16.65 lakh. The price increases are similar across all MT trims.

In comparison to its previous pricing of Rs 21.77 lakh, the top-spec XZ+ Red Dark model is now priced at Rs 21.97 lakh, indicating an increase of 0.92%. The starting price for AT variants has increased by 1.05% to Rs 19.20 lakh from Rs 19.00 lakh. Further, with an increase of 0.83% from the previous price of Rs 24.07 lakh, the top-spec XZA+ O Red is now available at Rs 24.27 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom prices.

As of July 17, 2023, the XE MT version costs Rs 15.85 lakh, which is an increase of 1.28% over the former price of Rs 15.65 lakh. Additionally, the top-spec XZA+ O Red AT is now priced at Rs 25.11 lakh, which is up from Rs 24.91 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom figures. 

Tata Nexon New Prices

The Tata Nexon, which was previously priced between Rs 7.80 lakh and Rs 14.30 lakh, has also become more expensive than before, similar to its above-mentioned SUV siblings. The XE version of the Nexon is available at Rs 7.99 lakh post the price hike. The XMA+(S) diesel variant, on the other hand, has become 5,000 more expensive and now costs Rs 10.64 lakh.

Aside from this, the prices of models, except XZ+ Lux Kaziranga, XM diesel, XM(S) diesel, XM+(S), XMA+(S), XZ+ Kaziranga, XMA(S) diesel, XZ+ Lux diesel Kaziranga, XZA+ Lux diesel Kaziranga, XZ+ Luxs Jet, XZ+ Luxs diesel Jet, XZA+ Luxs Jet, and XZA+ Luxs diesel Jet, have also increased by Rs 10,000.
