Top 5 Best-selling Hatchbacks in June 2024: Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, and More

Despite the SUV craze, hatchbacks remain a popular car segment in India. In June 2024, Maruti Suzuki contributed considerably to hatchback sales, with four of the top five models on the list belonging to the company. It emerged as the best-selling car brand, with more than 1.37 lakh units sold. While the Tata Punch was the top-selling car and SUV last month, the Maruti Suzuki Swift emerged as the best-selling hatchback. The upgraded model sold 16,422 units and had a market share of 11.21% in June 2024. Let's take a look at the top five hatchbacks in June 2024.

Maruti Suzuki Swift 

The Swift was the second best-selling car and the top-selling hatchback in June 2024. Compared to 15,955 units delivered in June of last year, the Swift sold 16,422 units last month, registering a YoY growth of 2.93%. The hatch is priced between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

In June, the Baleno emerged as the second-best-selling hatchback. It sold 14,895 units, a 6% year-on-year increase from 14,077 units supplied in June 2023. During this time, the hatch held a market share of 10.17%. The base price of the Baleno hatchback is Rs 6.66 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end variant is available for Rs 29.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

Despite a 21.11% year-on-year decrease, the WagonR remained a best-seller last month. It sold 13,790 units in June, which is less than the 17,481 units delivered in the same month last year. The hatch's price in India ranges between Rs 5.55 lakh and Rs 7.38 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10

In terms of sales, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 ranks fourth on the list. It registered sales of 7,775 units in the previous month, which is around 30% less than the same month of last year. The Alto K10's price begins at Rs 3.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai i20

The Hyundai i20 is the only non-Maruti Suzuki model on the list. Last month, the car sold 5,315 units, which is a 14% decrease in comparison to the units sold during the same time last year. Its price ranges between Rs 7.04 lakh and Rs 11.21 lakh (ex-showroom).
