The Maruti Suzuki Baleno became the top-selling car in India in December 2025, with over 22,000 units, overtaking the Tata Nexon, which had led for the past three months. It was closely followed by the Fronx, trailing by just 1,402 units. While Hyundai was absent from India’s top 10 best-sellers in December, the Tata Nexon continued its strong performance, securing third place. It was accompanied on the list by four Maruti Suzuki cars, the Dzire, Swift, Brezza, and Ertiga, ranking fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively. Here’s a snapshot of the 10 top-selling cars in India last month.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno sold 22,108 units in December, showing a whopping year-on-year growth of 143%. The price of the Baleno in India starts at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Fronx SUV closely followed its hatchback sibling, with 20,706 units sold. It nearly doubled its sales from the previous year, registering a 93% growth. Prices for the Fronx in India start at Rs 6.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Tata Nexon secured the third position with 19,375 units sold. Compared to last year's 13,536 units, the SUV experienced steady growth of 43%. The ICE Nexon starts at Rs 7.31 lakh, while the EV version is priced starting at Rs 12.49 lakh.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire sedan sold 19,072 units in December, marking a rise of 15% over 16,573 units sold in the same month last year. The Dzire's price starts in India at Rs 6.25 lakh.
The Swift hatchback recorded sales of 18,767 units, representing a gain of notable 80% over last year's 10,421 units. The Swift's price in India begins at Rs 5.79 lakh.

The Brezza SUV sold 17,704 units, showing steady demand with a slight 2% growth over 17,336 units sold during the same month in 2024. Prices for the Brezza in India start at Rs 8.25 lakh.
The Ertiga sold 16,586 units, exhibiting a 3% increase from the 16,056 units sold last year. The Ertiga is priced from Rs 8.80 lakh.
The Punch SUV sold 15,980 units, representing a 6% rise from the 15,073 units delivered in the previous year. The price of the ICE-powered Punch in India begins at Rs 5.50 lakh. Meanwhile, the Punch EV starts at Rs 9.99 lakh.

Mahindra’s Scorpio SUV sold 15,885 units, reflecting a growth of 30% from last year's 12,195 units. The price of the Scorpio Classic starts at Rs 12.98 lakh, while the Scorpio-N begins at Rs 13.20 lakh.
