Honda Car India is offering strong discounts on the City in an attempt to drive in more customers as new car sales resume in the country.

The BS6 spec Honda City hit the market way ahead of the April 2020 deadline in order to ensure continued demand for the most desired mid-size sedan in India. But the coronavirus pandemic has killed new car demand in the country and Honda Car India has geared up to come back fighting as sales for new cars open up. And in order to make the City more attractive to prospective buyers, Honda has increased the new car discount on the mid-size sedan to the tune of Rs. 1 lakh for the top-of-the-line ZX variant. The break up for this discount is a flat cash discount of Rs. 50,000 along with an exchange bonus of Rs. 50,000. This offer stands for both the manual and automatic versions of the Honda City ZX, while it also applies for the automatic version of the second-to-top VX variant.

The Honda City VX manual variant meanwhile has a cash discount of Rs. 37,000 along with an exchange bonus of Rs. 35,000, taking the total discount up to Rs. 72,000. Meanwhile, the lower-end SV and V variants of the City are on offer with a cash discount of Rs. 25,000 and exchange bonus worth Rs. 20,000.

Honda has also come out with offers on its Amaze compact sedan that allows first-time car buyers to avail free five-year extended warranty along with the 3-year Annual Maintenance Contract being offered at half the price. People trading in their car for a new Amaze get the free five-year extended warranty package along with an Rs. 20,000 exchange bonus.

The City and Amaze are the only two Honda cars on sale at the moment as the company is preparing the BS6 versions of the WR-V, Jazz, Civic and CR-V for market launch.
