Hyundai Motor India has revealed that the Creta has crossed 10 lakh unit sales in the nation. After its introduction in 2015, the Creta crossed this significant milestone in over eight years. The Indian arm of the South Korean automaker claims that in the Indian market, one Creta is sold every five minutes. Not only is it the best-selling mid-size SUV in the country but has also done well in terms of exports, with 2.80 lakh units shipped out of India.

Commenting on the achievement, Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India, said, ‘The Hyundai Creta has been a brand that has captured the hearts of Indian customers and made India “Live the SUV life”. With over 1 million Creta SUVs on Indian roads, the Creta brand has reaffirmed its legacy of being the Undisputed SUV. We are extremely grateful for the love and trust our customers have shown for the Creta. As frontrunners in the introduction of revolutionary technologies, we shall continue to establish new milestones and redefine benchmarks across segments in the industry.’

In 2023, the Creta accounted for 26.1% of the firm's annual domestic sales. Moreover, in the mid-size SUV market, it had a 30.7% market share the previous year. The car received a mid-life update last month and is now in its second generation in India. Notably, more than 60,000 bookings have been made for the new model.
