The KYT R1R helmet comes with MotoGP-derived aero, three years of wind tunnel testing, reduced drag, and high-speed stability for road and track riders.

KYT's new R1R has officially landed in India, and if you are the kind of rider who obsesses over helmets as much as motorcycles, this one deserves attention. Starting at Rs 39,000, the R1R was first shown at India Bike Week 2025, but now it is finally available at authorised dealerships. Sitting above the NZ Race and below the KX-1 Race GP, this is KYT's middle ground for riders who want a serious racing pedigree, premium construction and track-focused tech without jumping straight to the brand's most expensive helmet.

The big draw here is that the R1R is not just about looks or MotoGP-style branding. KYT says this helmet has been shaped by development inputs from its MotoGP programme, and that shows in the spec sheet. It gets a tricomposite shell made from carbon fibre, aramid fibre and fibreglass, which is exactly the sort of setup you expect from a performance-focused lid. At 1,550g for a medium shell, it stays in the zone with other premium helmets, while three shell sizes should mean a better fit for more riders.
For anyone who spends real time on fast bikes, aero matters, and KYT seems to have taken that seriously. The R1R was developed using over three years of wind tunnel testing, which should help with stability when speeds rise or when braking hard. That sharp shell profile, paired with a rear spoiler, is clearly aimed at riders who enjoy aggressive highway runs or occasional track days.
Ventilation also seems properly sorted, which is a big deal in Indian riding conditions. Multiple air intakes at the chin, forehead and upper section work with a passive rear vent to keep airflow moving. Add in the Hydrocool liner, and this could be the difference between finishing a summer ride fresh or completely cooked.
The visor system sounds especially impressive. Optical Class 1 clarity is a solid start, but the real highlight is the Racing Lock System, which uses a metal alloy setup borrowed directly from the MotoGP grid. It is designed to stop unwanted visor opening at speed, which is exactly the kind of detail enthusiasts notice. A wide field of vision, Pinlock compatibility and optional tinted visors only strengthen the package.
On the safety front, KYT has covered the essentials properly. ECE 22.06 certification is the latest benchmark, and the addition of ISI approval makes it road-legal and relevant for Indian buyers. The double-D ring closure is another reassuring touch, because when you are spending this much on a helmet, proper race-spec fastening simply makes sense.
Pricing starts at Rs 39,000 for Colour Graphics, while Carbon Graphics and Replica versions cost Rs 43,500. Yes, it sits firmly in premium territory, but the R1R seems built for riders who understand why a serious helmet matters.
