In a bold move to enhance its market presence and drive sales, Mahindra & Mahindra is offering substantial discounts of up to Rs 1.75 lakh on its popular Thar SUV. This generous rebate comes as part of a strategic push to attract more customers to the rugged and versatile vehicle, which has been a favourite among off-road enthusiasts and adventure seekers. By slashing prices significantly, Mahindra aims to make the Thar more accessible to a broader audience while reaffirming its commitment to delivering value and performance. This discount initiative is expected to not only boost Thar’s appeal but also reinforce Mahindra's position in the competitive SUV market, reflecting a dynamic approach to navigating current economic conditions and consumer preferences.

Mahindra Thar: September Discount Offers

Benefits ranging from Rs 1.35 lakh to up to Rs 1.75 lakh are available to buyers of the Mahindra Thar. The variants eligible for the latest discount offers include the LX Petrol AT 2WD, LX Petrol MT 4WD, LX Diesel MT 2WD, LX Diesel MT 4WD, LX Petrol AT 4WD, and LX Diesel AT 4WD. Notably, the offer value may vary depending on the variant, dealership, and stock availability, among other variables. The lifestyle off-roader is presently available for an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 11.35 lakh, with the top-of-the-line variant costing Rs 17.60 lakh.

Mahindra Thar: Engine Options

The Thar 4x2 is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of producing up to 117bhp and 300Nm of peak torque. This model is not automated; it only comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. In addition, the petrol 2.0-litre mStallion engine from the Thar 4x4 is still in use, mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and generating 150bhp of peak power and 320Nm of maximum torque.

The model's 4x4 variant is equipped with two engines: a 2.0-litre mStallion mill and a 2.2-litre diesel unit that produces 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Unlike the 2WD vehicles, the 4x4 models can be paired with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The Thar 4x4 also has a manual-shift 4x4 transfer case, and certain variants include a manual-locking differential.

The Mahindra off-roader's noteworthy features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, halogen headlights with LED DRLs, steering-mounted controls, electrically controlled air conditioning, removable roof panels, and cruise control. For improved occupant safety, the model incorporates dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill descent control, rear parking sensors, and a front seat belt reminder.
