Mahindra Thar, XUV300 Get Discounts of up to Rs 65,000 in June 2023

In the Indian market, the Mahindra Thar 4WD is available at a starting price of Rs 13.87 lakh for the petrol variant, and for the diesel unit, it commands a starting price of Rs 14.49 lakh.

Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the leading homegrown automakers, has announced a number of offers for customers interested in purchasing the Thar and the XUV300 in India. According to the company, customers can now avail cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate discounts on these models. Throughout the month of June, customers have the opportunity to avail significant savings on the market cost of the XUV300 and the iconic off-roader Thar, with discounts of up to Rs 65,000. These attractive offers are exclusively available through Mahindra's authorized dealerships across India until June 30, 2023.

The petrol version of the Mahindra XUV300 gets a maximum discount of up to Rs 55,000, which includes a cash discount of up to Rs 30,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 25,000. The TurboSport unit, on the other hand, is available with a cash discount of up to Rs 10,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 25,000.

As for the iconic off-roader Thar, customers can benefit from a maximum discount of up to Rs 65,000. The benefits include a cash discount of Rs 40,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 25,000. Note that these offers apply only to the 4WD AT version of the LX variant. Meanwhile, no discounts can be had on the Scorpio N and the XUV700.

Mahindra XUV300: Engine, Features, Price

Under the hood, the Mahindra XUV300 gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which makes 109bhp of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. There is also a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which produces 115bhp of peak power and 300Nm of torque. For transmission, you can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed AMT unit.

In terms of features, the XUV300 is equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, steering modes, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and dual-zone climate control. Safety features of the vehicle include 6 airbags, corner braking control, ABS with EBD, and traction control. 

The XUV300 adheres to RDE norms and is compatible with ethanol-based fuel. The sub-4m SUV costs Rs 8.41 lakh for the entry-level W4 1.2 Petrol version and Rs 13.21 lakh for the top-spec W8 (O) 1.2 Petrol AMT Dual Tone. As for its diesel variants, the Mahindra XUV300 retails between Rs 9.90 lakh and Rs 14.60 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. 

Mahindra Thar: Engine, Features, Price

The Mahindra Thar is available in 2WD and 4WD options. As for the powertrain, the 4X4 version gets two options: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which churns out 150bhp and 320Nm, and a 2.2-litre diesel unit, which produces 128bhp and 300Nm. Both engines come mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission. 

The Thar 2WD is offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine (117bhp and 300Nm) and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (150bhp and 320Nm). The diesel motor is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, whereas the petrol engine comes linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. 

On the feature front, the Thar gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with halogen headlights with LED DRLs, steering-mounted controls, electrically controlled AC, removable roof panels,  and cruise control. In terms of safety, the Mahindra Thar gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill descent control, traction control, rear parking sensors, and a front seat belt reminder.

In the Indian market, the Mahindra Thar 4WD is available at a starting price of Rs 13.87 lakh for the petrol variant and a starting price of Rs 14.49 lakh for the diesel variant. The Thar 2WD, on the other hand, ranges between Rs 10.54 lakh and Rs 13.49 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

In related news, Mahindra is preparing to roll out the new 5-door Thar, which is expected to make its market entry in early 2024. The upcoming model will offer 4X4 and 4X2 powertrains and could be Rs 70,000 to Rs 80,000 more expensive than the current model.
