Range Rover, Defender and More Help JLR India Register 93% YoY Sales Growth in First 9 Months of FY24

In the third quarter of FY24, JLR India reported cumulative sales of 1,226 vehicles, registering a year-on-year growth of 74%.

Land Rover announced record sales of 3,582 units in the first three-quarters of FY24, registering a YoY increase of 93% in comparison to the previous fiscal year. The Range Rover and the Defender drove the revenue growth of the company by 250% and 150%, respectively, accounting for more than 75% of the company's sales. JLR India delivered 1,226 units in Q3 FY2024 (October-December 2023), a 74% increase compared to the same period last year. The revised Range Rover Velar saw an increased market demand during the period, with a year-on-year growth of 183%. Towards the end of Q3 FY24, the luxury manufacturer reported a robust order book, with a 92% year-on-year increase. Additionally, it stated that the current order book contains over eight months of sales and continues to expand each month. Furthermore, JLR's certified pre-owned business has witnessed an annual growth of 74% compared to the same period last year.

The new Range Rover Electric is slated to make its official international debut this year. A series of official photographs released last month revealed the SUV's wheel hub, door handles, charging outlet, front grille, and rear profile. Based on these teaser images, the car appears to have a streamlined design with some creases and cuts, perhaps to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The all-electric SUV gets advanced all-terrain technology, impressive towing and wading capabilities, and a unique active noise reduction system. The forthcoming EV will be built on Jaguar Land Rover's Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). The 800-volt charging architecture of the all-electric SUV offers quick charging support.
