Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Classic 350 Drive 21% YoY Sales Growth in Feb'23

The Royal Enfield Hunter, the Classic, the Meteor in the sub 350cc segment were the major contributors to the company's sales growth. However, bikes above 350cc segment declined by 30.41 per cent in the recently concluded month.

Royal Enfield registered a 21 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth in total sales during the month of February, the bike maker has announced in an official statement. In February 2023, the company sold 71,544 units when compared to 59,160 bikes sold in February 2022. Of the total sales this past month, domestic sales figure stood at 64,436 units, up from 52,135 motorcycles sold during the month of February in 2022, representing a 23.59 per cent YoY increase. On the other hand, the export numbers for the same month showed only a slight improvement by 1.18 per cent, posting just 7,108 bikes as against 7,025 units during the same period in 2022.

Royal Enfield attributes its sales growth primarily to the Hunter, the Classic, the Meteor in the sub 350cc segment. Not just this, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 recently crossed the sales milestone of over 1 Lakh units in India in 6 months, making it the second best-selling motorcycle after the Classic 350.

However, the sales for above 350cc segment comprising the Himalayan 410, the Interceptor 650, the Continental GT 650, and the Super Meteor 650 declined by 30.41 per cent (YoY) to 6,734 units sold in the past month from 9,676 bikes sold in February 2022. 

Although, its 350cc motorcycles remain the biggest contributor to overall sales volume, Royal Enfield saw a 4.28 per cent MoM (month-on-month) decline in total sales from 74,746 units sold in January 2023.
