Sonet, Seltos And More Help Kia India Register 35.8% Sales Growth in Feb'23

Kia India has unveiled its sales report for the month of February 2023. The company has registered a growth of 35.8%. Read on below to know which Kia models contributed to the sales growth of the company.

Kia India reported selling 24,600 units in the domestic market in February 2023. Compared to the 18,121 units sold in the same month last year, the company has recorded a growth of 35.8%. According to the carmaker, several Kia models contributed to the highest sales growth. From 6,154 units sold in February 2022, sales of the Kia Sonet grew by 59.83 percent YoY to 9,836 units. There was a volume increase of 3,682 units. Moreover, MoM sales of the model climbed by 6.21% from 9,261 units sold in January 2023. The second highest contributor to sales is the Kia Seltos. Kia India sold 8,012 units of the car in February 2023, compared to the 6,575 units sold in the same month last year, marking a YoY growth of 21.86%. The Seltos' performance was good in January 2023, when sales were at 10,470 units. Hence, there was a de-growth of 23.48% MoM.

The third-highest contributor - Carens, witnessed 22.29% YoY growth at 6,248 units in February 2023. Last year, at the same time, the company sold 5,109 units of the Carens. On an MoM basis, the sales dropped 20.91% from 7,900 units in January 2023. On a YoY basis, Kia India reported an increase in demand for the Carnival. From 283 units sold in February 2022, it increased by 78.09 percent to 504 units in February 2023. Unfortunately, the MoM performance was poor, declining by 49.75 percent from the 1,003 units sold in January 2023.

According to reports, the company has sold more than 6.75 lakh vehicles domestically since its establishment in August 2019 and shipped 1.9 lakh units abroad to around 95 countries.

Sharing his views on the sales numbers, Hardeep Singh Brar – National Head, of Sales & Marketing, Kia India, stated, “With continued support from our esteemed customers, Kia has recorded another successful sale run in the month of February. Achieving 35.8 percent growth against the industry’s growth of 10 percent shows the love and confidence the Indian consumers have for the brand.”
