Toyota’s flagship SUV, the Fortuner, has achieved a major milestone in India by surpassing 3 lakh units in cumulative sales. Known for its rugged build, reliable performance, and strong road presence, the Fortuner has consistently led the premium SUV segment since its debut. This achievement highlights its enduring popularity among Indian buyers, particularly those seeking a blend of power, durability, and off-road capability. Toyota attributes this success to the Fortuner’s loyal customer base and its reputation for long-term dependability in diverse driving conditions across the country.
Toyota’s Fortuner SUV lineup offers two distinct engine configurations tailored to different driving preferences. The petrol-powered variant is driven by a 2.7-litre engine that generates 164bhp of maximum power and 245Nm of torque, and comes with a choice between a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The Legender edition, which sits at the top of the range, is solely offered with the 2.8-litre diesel engine and delivers the same performance outputs. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or automatic transmission for this variant as well.
The latest Toyota Fortuner, especially the upscale Legender variant, comes loaded with a broad array of high-end features that blend luxury with practicality. Comfort features include ventilated front seats with power adjustment, plush leather upholstery, an auto-dimming inside mirror, and a dual-zone automatic climate system complemented by rear air vents.
On the tech and safety front, the SUV packs in advanced functionalities such as a gesture-controlled electric tailgate, a wireless phone charger, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment interface. Drivers also benefit from features like a hill start assist system, rearview camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and a full set of parking sensors at both ends. Rounding out the safety package are seven airbags and a multi-information display (MID), all contributing to a confident and premium driving experience.
