It is driven by the same K12N 1.2-litre Dual Jet petrol unit, capable of delivering 89bhp and 113Nm. Mechanically, as mentioned, the model is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, capable of putting out 89bhp and 113Nm. The hatchback also has a CNG variant. In a CNG mode, the engine churns out 76bhp of power and 98.5Nm of torque. It gets only a five-speed manual gearbox.

According to market reports, the high popularity of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder among customers in India has led to an increased waiting period. The Toyota Hyryder NeoDrive versions are said to have a waiting duration of about 7 months, whereas the hybrid models of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, are reported to have a waiting period of up to 20 months.
