Mahindra March 2023 Sales Figures
Since utility vehicles make up all but one of the company's products, Mahindra has also recorded its highest-ever SUV sales at 356,961 units, up 59 per cent YoY. The firm, whose lineup includes well-known models like the Bolero, the Scorpio, the Thar, the XUV300, the XUV700, the XUV400, and more, has witnessed enhanced sales given the surging demand for UVs in India. There is currently a long waiting list for the majority of these models. Consequently, it was obvious the automaker would have a record year. In fact, FY2023's first eight months (April to November 2023) already saw cumulative sales surpass FY2022's 225,895 units, reaching 231,413 units. Additional 127,840 units were sold over the following four months.

Mahindra Thar Reaches 1 Lakh Unit Production Milestone in India
According to a recent statement from Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M), the iconic off-roader, the new Thar, has reached a production milestone of 1 lakh units. The Mahindra Thar has reached this production milestone in less than 2.5 years, showing the SUV's growing appeal and popularity in the country. The Thar is now available in both 4x4 and RWD configurations, giving buyers more options. The all-new Thar was unveiled in August 2020, with deliveries beginning in October 2020. It had a new design language, more capabilities, and petrol and diesel engine options with MT and AT gearboxes. The new Thar, which was initially launched in 4x4 form, is now also available in RWD form, making it more affordable than before. While the RWD version is intended for buyers looking for a budget-friendly high-stance SUV with a lifestyle design and built for both highway and city use, the 4x4 version is intended for off-road enthusiasts and includes features such as a mechanical locking differential and a shift-on-the-fly transfer case.
On the mechanical front, the Thar is available with one petrol engine and two diesel engines. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 150bhp and 300Nm. It has either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the oil burner is available in 1.5-litre and 2.2-litre diesel engines. The former produces 130bhp and 300Nm when paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a torque converter, while the latter only produces 117bhp and 300Nm when paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is only available in the SUV's 4x2 version.
