Eighteen-year-old Arjun Maini will compete in his second Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix on the November 17 to 20 with Team Motopark. Maini finished tenth out of a field of 22 finishers at what is regarded to be the premier Formula 3 race in the world, despite competing with a troublesome car and engine combination in T-Sport-Threebond (as opposed to either Volkswagen or Mercedes-Benz power).

Maini competed in a troubled 1.5 year spell in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing and T-Sport before switching to the Formula 1 support series GP3, where he has had some success including a podium finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.

"Racing in Macau has always been amongst my more favourite experiences," said Maini. "The long straights and the narrow passages allow me to reach high speeds with the tact of keeping utmost control of the car.

"Macau also has the reputation of attracting the best drivers from the World, as a strong performance here really puts your on the radar of the team Principals - making this weekend challenging yet extremely satisfying, post a strong performance."

Team Motopark has been competing in Formula 3, Formula Renault and the GP2 Series - among others - since 1998 with some success. The team has netted 66 wins, 60 pole positions and 9 championships across various F3 disciplines.

"We are very happy to welcome Arjun to our team," said Motopark team principal Timo Rumpfkeil. "We have followed his career closely and have experienced some good tests with him end of 2015, where he showed very good speed and a very mature approach.

"It is of course valuable to have a driver with experience in Macau such as Arjun. Arjun had a clear run there last year and we are keen that he will be in a strong position to have a good result in Macau this year with us."
