The Chinese Grand Prix makes its highly anticipated return to the F1 calendar in 2024, marking five years since it hosted the iconic 1000th race of the championship back in 2019. In addition, this season marks the 20th anniversary of China's first race on the Formula One calendar, which took place in 2004. With six wins, Lewis Hamilton is the most successful driver in the history of the Chinese Grand Prix. He is ahead of drivers like Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg, who each have two wins. In this year's Chinese Grand Prix, Formula One Sprint races will take place. The exciting 19-lap sprint race will now happen on Saturday morning, after the sprint qualifying run on Friday. Qualifying for the grand prix will then happen on Saturday afternoon.

Because Max Verstappen had to pull out of the Australian Grand Prix too soon, the other drivers jumped at the chance to show how good they were and close the gap in the Drivers' Championship results. But Verstappen quickly took back the lead with a big win in Japan. He is currently in first place in the drivers' results, having won three of the four Grand Prix races.
