Indian Supercross Racing League Registrations Open in India Ahead of Debut in October

The first round of the Indian Supercross Racing League is scheduled to be held at New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in October this year, followed by rounds in Ahmedabad and Pune.

The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) with CEAT as the title sponsor, will make its debut in October 2023. Registration for the inaugural edition, which will be held in India from October to December 2023, has commenced. The Indian Supercross racing league promises to bring together riders from around the world to participate in a variety of formats and categories, targeting an overall pool of 246 riders - out of which, 88 will be selected. It is the world's first franchise-based sport that is witnessing tremendous popularity in the country. The first season will be made up of three rounds. The first round is scheduled to be held at New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in October this year, followed by rounds in Ahmedabad and Pune. Interestingly, the rounds will not be limited to select cities to ensure a wider reach.

2023 Indian Supercross Racing League: Registration Details

All interested participants can register by completing the Rider Registration form, which can be accessed through the official SXI website: www.indiansupercrossleague.com. The participants are required to feed in essential details, such as personal information, racing experience, social media handles, endorsement and contract status, and relevant documentation.

The ISRL Season 1 is open to athletes of all nationalities. To ensure fair participation, riders from nations other than India must provide a No Objection Letter/Certificate from their respective National Sporting Authorities/National Federations for motorsport, in favour of the FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) and SXI. It is worth noting that rider registration is a necessary step to enter the rider pool and to be given consideration by franchises for selection during the player auction.

2023 Indian Supercross Racing League: Categories

There will be a total of four racing categories, which include 450cc international riders only, 250cc international riders only, 250cc India-Asia mix, and 85cc junior class. A total of eight brand-based teams will participate, with each team fielding two riders per category. Additionally, each team will also have a reserve rider for the Indian category.

Moreover, there will also be a 40-50cc junior racing programme for kids aged 5 to 10, where they would get to ride around on mini dirt bikes. Supercross races are often held on indoor dirt tracks with steep jumps and obstacles.
