The Dominar 400 is the flagship motorcycle in Bajaj Auto range since it sits above the Pulsar range in respect to both the features and specifications. The Dominar 400 was the first Indian motorcycle to be sold with a full LED headlamp. Moreover, the bike also gets dual-channel ABS, a reverse LED split speedometer and an LED tail lamp unit, as part of its extensive feature list.
The Dominar 400’s design is a mix of clean and bold. Coming to the dimensions, the Dominar is 2,156mm in overall length, 813mm in width and 1,112mm in height. The kerb weight of the bike is 182kg and the fuel tank capacity is 13-litres. The Dominar 400 has a ground clearance of 157mm.
Engine & Transmission
The 2019 iteration of the Dominar 400 gets a tweaked version of the same 373cc single-cylinder engine, which now churns out 38.8bhp of power and 35Nm of torque. The liquid-cooled unit comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the cruiser also scores well on the fuel efficiency front, as the Bajaj Dominar 400 mileage is rated at 26.5km/l.
The Dominar 400 gets its stopping power from a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. The bike rides on beefy 43mm upside-down telescopic forks suspension at the front and multi-step adjustable monoshock suspension at the back. The bike is based on a beam type perimeter chassis whilst it sports a 110/70 R17 radial tyre at the front end and a wider 150/60-17 radial tyre at the rear.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 new model comes equipped with dual-channel ABS as part of the standard safety equipment. The headlamp of the Dominar 400 is a full LED headlamp with LED DRLs integrated and the taillamp also comes powered by LEDs. The instrument cluster is fully digital and shows the speedometer, tachometer, driving modes and all the other resourceful information at a glance.
