Benelli Leoncino 250 Highlights
The Benelli Leoncino 250 is, essentially, a more affordable and lower displacement version of the Leoncino 500. By the looks of it, the Leoncino 250 is largely related to its elder sibling. However, there are some over the top bits that differentiate it from its elder sibling.
Narrower front USD fork, smaller brakes, and narrower rubber are bits where Benelli has cut costs for the Leoncino 250. Interestingly though, the LED DRL has been moved from the projector ring to the headlamp borderline. Another change includes a new rectangular instrument cluster – in place of the twin-pod cluster from the Leoncino 500 – that offers a plethora of features.
Essentially, the Leoncino 250 is a shrunken-down version of the Leoncino 500. The bike has a ground clearance of 170mm and a kerb weight of 162kg. The fuel capacity is rated at 12.5-litres. Moreover, it has a length of 2,030mm, a width of 840mm, and a height of 1,115mm.
Engine & Transmission
At the heart of the Benelli Leoncino 250 is a single-cylinder 249cc engine that is good for 25.1bhp and 21Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed manual transmission. The engine relies on liquid-cooling for heat dissipation. As far as Benelli Leoncino 250 mileage is concerned, we expect it to return around 35km/l.
The Leoncino 250, on the handling front, rides on a 41mm upside-down telescopic fork suspension at the front and a pre-load adjustable suspension at the rear. The bike is built around a steel trellis chassis. For braking, the baby Leoncino gets a 280mm disc brake at the front and a 240mm disc brake at the rear. The 17-inch wheels are shod with a 110/70 R17 tyre at the front and a 150/60 R17 tyre at the back.
As far as rider-centric features are concerned, the Benelli Leoncino 250 new model comes fitted with LEDs for the headlamp, taillamp as well as turn indicators. The instrument cluster is capable of displaying a wide array of essential information like a clock, fuel gauge, speedometer, tachometer, odometer, and engine temperature. Dual-channel ABS is standard.
Price & Variants
The Benelli Leoncino 250 comes in a single variant. The Benelli Leoncino 250 price (as of mid-2020) is ₹2.50 lakh for the Standard variant. For the Benelli Leoncino 250 on-road prices, be sure to check our price section.
