My dream bike

My favourite aspect about this bike: its automatic dual-clutch transmission. You sit high on the bike, and it accelerates very smoothly. Built to take on any type of terrain, it&rsquo;s the ultimate do-it-all motorcycle.&nbsp; For about 14 lakh rupees, I would definitely consider buying this someday. Should come with an adjustable windscreen though.

Wow! An automatic motorcycle! Wish I had that kind of money to buy one. Love the huge tyres and I can imagine what an amazing view the rider has seated so high. For our stupid roads, this is the best bike. Wish Honda launches a cheaper model, with small engine.

Easy to ride

First bike I am seeing without gears. I hope Honda launches affordable bikes with automatic gearbox. It would be great for those who can't afford this type of bikes.

2026 Honda CB750 Hornet Globally Revealed with E-Clutch and New Colours

The 2026 Honda CB750 comes with an optional E-Clutch, new dual-tone colours, the same 755cc engine and added tech features for daily use.

I am at a stage in life when a phone call from friends or family means one of two things - either an invitation to a major life event or news of someone’s passing. In such moments, what you need is quiet reliability. And that’s exactly what the Honda Elevate offered - not excellence, but presence.
The Elevate we have is the Signature Black Edition, a variant that looks purposeful but not particularly special. The ‘Black Edition’ emblem on the tailgate and ‘Signature Edition’ badge on the front fender feel like afterthoughts rather than neatly integrated touches. Still, the tall bonnet, massive grille, and sharply cut LED headlamps lend it a confident stance. Other drivers tend to make way without the need for aggressive honking or light flashing - always a welcome trait on Indian roads.
Inside, the spacious cabin proved to be one of the Elevate’s highlights. A recent long drive from Chandigarh to Delhi reaffirmed how roomy and comfortable it feels, with ample headroom and legroom for all passengers. The boot, too, is impressively accommodating - easily swallowing a large suitcase, three cabin bags, and two office backpacks.
The drive experience, however, leaves much to be desired. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine feels underpowered and, surprisingly for a Honda, quite noisy. You really have to wring it out to maintain expressway speeds, which gets tiring over time. The vague and notchy gearshifts only add to the frustration, especially in city traffic, where low-speed pickup feels lethargic and you’re constantly rowing through gears.
 Ride comfort is acceptable on smooth stretches, but sharp bumps unsettle the rear, which tends to bounce about - not ideal for passengers with sensitive backs. The ADAS suite works well in most cases, offering gentle steering and braking assistance. But in tight city lanes, it can be overly sensitive - even a pedestrian’s sudden flinch can trigger an emergency stop. 
 The ‘rhythmic’ ambient lighting with seven selectable colours sounds interesting on paper, but the execution feels cheap. Brightness can’t be adjusted, and the control module is oddly positioned on the dashboard beside the steering column - another afterthought.
One curious observation: after a spell of rain, water pooled on the contoured bonnet and stayed put even at 100km/h. It’s worth keeping an eye out for, as standing water could cause rust over time.
 In the end, the Elevate isn’t about flair or excitement. It’s about quiet dependability - a car that doesn’t excel in any one area but never lets you down either. Like a true friend, it’s there when you need it most, and now it’s heading into the next chapter with Shivank, who’s taking it on a road trip to the hills. Let’s see how the Elevate fares when the tarmac turns twisty.

Honda Elevate Long Term Report: Month 1 - A Friend Indeed

In a month of living with the Honda Elevate, its greatest strength has become clear: not performance or flair, but the kind of quiet reliability you can count on without question.

The latest entrant in the 125cc motorcycle segment, the Honda CB 125 Hornet, is already creating quite a buzz (pun fully intended). In a space crowded with sensible commuters, the Hornet stands out as a 125cc motorcycle with real street presence and a proper attitude.

Visually, the CB 125 Hornet is a stunner. It takes design inspirations from its bigger Hornet siblings. Its sharp lines, muscular bodywork, and a purposeful stance can easily make you mistake it for a 200cc or even a 250cc machine. The gold-anodised USD fork, sculpted fuel tank, contoured seat, and compact tail section further add to its premium appeal. The paint finish and build quality are top-notch – easily among the best we’ve seen from Honda in recent years. Powering the CB 125 Hornet is a 124cc single-cylinder engine, which produces 11bhp and 11.2Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. On paper, these numbers may seem underwhelming, but on the road, the bike feels peppy, smooth, and responsive – exactly what you’d expect from an smart urban commuter. The throttle response is crisp, and the engine revs cleanly, making city commutes effortless and fun. At 124kg, the Hornet is light, agile, and quite flickable, making negotiating traffic or tight corners an easy affair.

During the timing runs at the BIC, the Hornet surprised us all by holding its own. It managed a lap time of 1:28.0, even edging out the more powerful Kawasaki KLX230 – an impressive feat for a 125cc commuter. Sure, it’s not built for the track, but it exhibited impressive poise, balance, and composure that exceeded expectations. The brakes are good enough to inspire confidence, and the chassis is tight and predictable, encouraging you to push harder. The CB 125 Hornet is going to shake things up in the sporty 125 cc commuter space, taking the fight to the likes of the TVS Raider 125 and the Hero Xtreme 125R, both of which have done well in the Indian market. A 125 cc commuter showdown then is just what the doctor ordered. Time to make a few calls, then.

In the real world, all this means a motorcycle that’s not only fun to ride but also comfortable and practical. At the end of the day, the Honda CB 125 Hornet makes a strong case for itself. It’s stylish, refined, well-equipped, and genuinely fun to ride. It might not be the fastest 125cc machine on the road, but it’s easily one of the most desirable. So, if you want a commuter that looks stylishly sharp, feels premium, and is relatively easy on the pocket, the CB Hornet 125 is the one to beat.

Honda CB 125 Hornet Wins Bike of the Year - autoX Awards 2025

Visually, the Honda CB 125 Hornet is a stunner. Its sharp lines, muscular bodywork, and a purposeful stance can easily make you mistake it for a 200cc or even a 250cc machine.

The Activa is a well-known name in the scooter market, and deservedly so. After all, it has shattered various sales records for Honda. So, when Honda decided to launch an electric version of the Activa – the Activa e – we expected it to deliver on all fronts. However, that was not the case. It looks smart, feels solid, and oozes brilliant quality just like other Honda products, but beyond that, things begin to feel rather underwhelming.

The Activa e comes with two swappable batteries, which are designed well, and don’t weigh a lot. However, the problem is that they can’t be charged at home – there is no way to plug in and charge the scooter or the batteries. Now, considering the Activa e is not what you’d call a competitively priced offering, the added battery subscription makes things worse. Had it been priced close to ₹1 lakh (ex-showroom), the value equation would have made more sense.

The swappable battery setup also eats into the very thing most scooter buyers care about – storage. The under-seat storage space is minimal, leaving little room for storing everyday items. The suspension is also disappointing – it feels overly stiff for everyday city riding. And the odd weight distribution also makes it feel a bit nervous around corners. On the plus side, its 7-inch digital instrument cluster is one of its best features. It’s not a touchscreen, but that’s not a problem at all, given how smooth and responsive its interface is. The buttons on the handlebar are also quite intuitive. The unit displays a wealth of information without cluttering the screen. The Activa e also comes with keyless operation, which is a nice touch; however, it’s more of a novelty than a real advantage.

Japanese motorcycle giant Honda showcased a bunch of products at EICMA 2025, but the model that&nbsp;truly stole the spotlight was the all-new CB1000GT. Built on the robust and proven platform of the flagship CB1000 Hornet,&nbsp;the CB1000GT adds a mix of performance and touring comfort to Honda’s premium lineup. In India, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/">Honda</a> already made headlines earlier this year by launching the <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-bikes/honda/cb1000-hornet/">CB1000 Hornet SP</a> at a price of Rs 12.36 lakh (ex-showroom) in May 2025, paving the way for more high-performance models like the CB1000GT. But, exports saw a negative growth of 9%, resulting in a net growth of just about 4.3%.  At the ongoing Japan Mobility Show, Honda announced ambitious plans to bring its focus back to the Indian market. It plans to launch at least ten new cars and SUVs over the next five years, one of which will be the new 0 α electric SUV that was revealed at the show. Honda Witnesses 15.3% Growth In Domestic Sales In October 2025; But Exports Fall

Honda Cars India recorded handsome growth in domestic sales in October 2025, but exports for the carmaker fell by a small margin.

At the crack of dawn, it looked like we still had the company of the night sky and with threatening clouds gathering above us, we all tried to remain calm and keep a check on our enthusiasm as we were all suited up for the first ever Africa Twin media ride in India. As the weather continued to look ominous, Honda Motorcycle &amp; Scooter India had only one thing to say to us, ‘trust the Africa Twin’. After launching the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin two months ago, we finally got to swing our leg around one of the most capable adventure bikes in the world. We might not be jumping and sliding in Death Valley, but the off beaten roads of Udaipur certainly did promise to let us experience what the Africa Twin is actually capable of.

My first reaction was that it looked like a mid-weight ADV bike, but don’t be fooled by its appearance. It came across like that because of its sleek 18.8 litres tank, compact size of the 999.11cc engine and a narrow but sturdy chassis. As I made myself comfortable on the bike, I realised how easy it is for a 5 feet 9-inch rider to easily put both my feet firmly on the road. Even though the seat height can be adjusted from 840mm-820mm, I didn’t feel the need to reduce the height. As the Africa Twin is only available in automatic dual clutch transmission (DCT) variant in India, it came with quite a few buttons on the handlebar. Thankfully, its display was simple and easy to read, therefore, it wasn’t as overwhelming as the USS Enterprise in Star Trek.

I thumb started the Africa Twin with my right hand and switched to D mode and gently twisted the throttle. To my surprise, the engine responded smoothly with a linear acceleration. Unlike its European rivals, the Africa Twin doesn’t bully you or force you to curb your riding style. &nbsp;As we snaked our way out of Udaipur, I noticed the DCT in D mode would upshift very quickly and before I knew it, we were cruising in sixth gear. This was slightly annoying initially, but with the gear changing buttons on the left, all I had to do was press the button with the left thumb to downshift. It was really that simple. As the heavens opened up and light showers poured down upon us, I decided to keep the traction control on the third mode - the highest. Being a legendary off-roader, the Africa Twin was also road-friendly even though the 45mm Showa front forks and the rear Pro-Link system set up is more on the softer side to accommodate off-roading terrain. The beauty here is that both the front and the rear suspensions are fully adjustable and can be changed without the use of tools. If you are going to ride in the city more often than not, then it would be better to stiffen the suspension set up a bit. Another thing that impressed me was its cornering behaviour. If you enter a corner too fast, there is no need to panic, just press the brake slightly and let the bike do the rest. The front will stay planted and hold its line, while the ADV bike will reduce its speed in a controlled manner.

Honestly, I can go on and on about the Africa Twin, but it's time to find out how it actually fares on gravel, sand, mud - basically on no roads.&nbsp;The off beaten track was an incline full of gravel and wet sand. While the Africa Twin was rearing to go, I decided to hit the ‘G’ button, which increases the traction and provides phenomenal grip. I also switched to Sport mode as I needed the additional rev power. As we entered the uncharted territory, the DCT would upshift, or downshift in the same manner I would if I was riding a manual bike. It was slightly eerie how the automatic transmission was in sync with my brain. As the off-roading terrain became more hardcore and slushy, I decided to switch off the traction and opt for manual mode. The Africa Twin did give us some liberties by allowing us to rev it higher and touch the 8,000rpm mark, but the DCT did upshift automatically after awhile.

As we kept getting our feet, or rather the Africa Twin dirty, we realised just how much it felt at home. No crater like undulation, rocks and puddle could stop this juggernaut. It became very obvious that the 87bhp motor could plough its way through anything and not let any adversaries hold it back. We decided to take the Africa Twin into a knee deep puddle without knowing that it was actually waist height deep. I must confess I did panic a bit, but then I remembered the wise words from HMSI, ‘Trust the Africa Twin’. I did just that and kept twisting the throttle and before I knew it I was out of the puddle. This just proved how awesome the DCT is and if you ride the bike properly it will never stall on you. What really impressed me when we were off-roading was that the rubber mounted handlebar clamp along with brass damper incorporated in it managed to reduce vibration to a minimal. Even though the Africa Twin had plenty of electronic nannies, the 21-inch tyres with 310mm twin front discs and 18-inch rear with 256mm disc brake did manage to provide a decent grip both off and on the tarmac with plenty of stopping power.

It was time for me to take a break and catch my breath. As I gulped down a Gatorade to quench my thirst and replenish my electrolytes, I realised how the CRF design influence not only makes the Africa Twin look lean, but also very practical to ride on a daily basis. The upright riding position actually lets you ride in city traffic comfortably. The dual LED headlights are in a way a signature design as it takes us back to the past and lets us re-kindle the late 80s’ when the Africa Twin won the Dakar rally many times. As mentioned earlier, there are many buttons on the handlebar, but it’s all about getting used to the functions and the setup. What is brilliant about the DCT is that it lets you focus on your ride and takes care of everything. It just makes life very simple. The automatic transmission comes with three sport riding modes and three traction control modes. Honda also provides the option to switch off rear ABS and without complicating things further, there is an ABS switch on the dash so that one doesn’t have to keep fidgeting around with the settings. According to Honda, with these modes, the Africa Twin offers 80 different riding combinations. This ADV bike is capable of all this thanks to its Up hill/Down hill detection sensor through which the system adapts the gear shift pattern. Among many, two class leading features stand out – the 2.6m turning radius and the impressive 250mm of ground clearance.

As I sign out from our Africa Twin ride, I can say this without a shadow of a doubt that this is the ADV motorcycle to own as the engine has a well-balanced power range, the ergonomics are spot on, the ride quality is excellent off-road and comfortable on the tarmac. Even though the Africa Twin feels light, it actually weighs 245kgs, which reveals how balanced its weight distribution is. Sure, some may be disappointed that it doesn’t come with ride-by-wire technology and the windscreen isn’t adjustable, but believe you me, this Honda comes with more than enough features to keep you safe and conquer different terrains. And there is only one other thing I would like to add, trust the DCT. Also at Rs 13.06 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, the Africa Twin is worth paying every lakh, I only wish I had that kind of money lying around.
