The highlight is a new 5 kWh battery with a claimed range of 265km, making it the longest-range option in the Simple One line-up. The chassis has been revised to improve rigidity and stability at higher speeds. Introductory prices start at Rs 1.39 lakh ex-showroom.&nbsp;</p><p>The Simple OS has six riding modes along with traction control and cruise control. The scooter gets a 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth and 5G e-SIM support. Features include hill hold assist, theft alerts through a mobile app, and Google Maps navigation. The Simple OneS sits at the entry level with a 3.7 kWh battery and a claimed range of 190km, priced at Rs 1.49 lakh ex-showroom. The mid-spec version uses a 4.5kWh battery and offers a claimed 236km range, starting at Rs 1.69 lakh. At the top is the 5kWh variant, which delivers the claimed 265km range and is priced from Rs 1.77 lakh ex-showroom.</p><p>Performance figures change across the variants. The 5 kWh Simple One does 0–40km/h in 2.55 seconds and has a top speed of 115km/h. It uses an 8.8kW motor producing 72Nm of torque. The lower variants are tuned more for city use, with top speeds limited to 90km/h and 0–40km/h acceleration times of around three seconds.</p><p>Mechanical updates are part of the Gen 2 package. The battery now weighs 30 kg, which is lower than before. Suspension has been retuned, and seat height is reduced to 780 mm. Braking distance from 60km/h ranges between 18.49 and 19.6 metres, supported by disc brakes, combined braking, and four levels of regenerative braking. Underseat storage remains at 35 litres across all variants.</p><p>Deliveries will take place through 61 showrooms in cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, and Jaipur, along with Amazon and Flipkart. Simple Energy offers a lifetime warranty on the battery and motor, a three-year vehicle warranty, and a five-hour charging time using a 750W charger.<br></p>

<p>We had the Elevate with us for just two months, and as I type this, it has already gone back to Honda. So yes, this was a short long-term test. Still, our time with it was enough to understand exactly where the Elevate shines and where it falls short.</p>
<p>Let’s start with the positives. The Elevate’s biggest strengths are its reliability, comfort, and overall space and practicality. It’s fuel-efficient, honest in its execution, and very much a form-follows-function kind of SUV. Its ADAS suite is among the best in the mass-market space — as our Mega ADAS comparisons have repeatedly proven. </p>
<p>There are, however, more than a few occasions when the Elevate feels out of its depth. My biggest complaints are its high NVH and mellow performance, especially when compared to its key rivals. As you may have read in Sid’s report last month, I took the Elevate on a road trip to the hills. On the first leg, cruising at 90–100km/h, performance wasn’t an issue per se, but the cabin got so noisy that it constantly felt like the engine was being stressed. Over long distances, that gets tiring.</p>
<p>The climb to Shimla was when it went even more downhill for the Elevate. Overtakes demand frequent gear changes, and even at 4,000rpm, refinement is nothing to write home about. The handling is tidy, but you’re so busy figuring out the right-gear-right-rpm that you’re not really having fun. All things considered, the Elevate is mechanically sound, but it lacks the effortless nature and finesse of its main rivals. In isolation, you could easily live with it. Start comparing, though, and it does feel a bit yesterday next to the competition.</p>

Two months with the Honda Elevate revealed a sensible, reliable SUV that gets the basics right, but it starts to show its age when pushed hard or compared to rivals.

<p>A white Honda Civic Type R has been spotted on Indian roads, marking one of the first clear sightings of the FL5 Civic Type R in the country. The car was seen in Mumbai with TC plates. Although it is a privately imported and owned vehicle, the sighting has sparked fresh discussion about the launch of the Civic Type R in India. Honda Cars India has already confirmed that select CBU imports will begin in 2026, creating space for halo products such as this hot hatchback in India. To recall, <em>autoX </em>was the first to break the news of the possible Civic Type R launch in India. The sighting also increases curiosity about Honda Car India and its possible shift towards performance-focused models.</p>
