Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Highlights
The Continental GT 650, as of mid-2020, sits on top of the Royal Enfield range of motorcycles in India. The Continental GT 650 is a bit sportier compared to the Interceptor, as it follows a café racer format and misses out on the pavilion seat for a more focused look and feel. Just like the Interceptor 650, the Continental GT 650, too, debuts the manufacturer’s new twin-cylinder 648cc motor in India.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 shows off its sporty intentions with its café racer design. Coming to the exterior dimensions, the Continental GT is 2,122mm long, 744mm wide, and 1,024mm in height. As for the other dimensions, the ground clearance is 174mm while the kerb weight is 198kg. The fuel tank has a capacity of 12.5-litres.
Engine & Transmission
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 features a 648cc twin-cylinder motor, which churns out 47bhp and 52Nm of torque. The oil-cooled engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The efficiency number of the Continental GT is identical to the Interceptor since the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 mileage is rated at 25km/l.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is built around a tubular steel double-cradle chassis and it rides on beefy 41mm telescopic forks suspension at the front and twin, coil-over shocks suspension at the rear. The stopping power comes from a 320mm disc and a 240mm disc at the front and rear, respectively. Lastly, it gets a 100/90-18 M/C 56H section tyre at the front and a 130/70-18 M/C 63H section tyre at the back.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 new model comes with ABS as part of the standard safety feature on all the variants. In the electricals department, the bike misses out on LEDs for both the headlamp and the taillamp. The instrument cluster is a twin-pod unit, which houses an analogue tachometer and speedometer accompanied by a small display for the trip data, fuel gauge and odometer.
