<p>The i20 hatchback in its all-new avatar is powered by a single&nbsp;1.2-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of&nbsp;82bhp and a peak torque of&nbsp;115Nm. A CVT automatic or a 5-speed manual can handle transmission operations.&nbsp;Following the generational change, the hatchback has received a new entry-level Era version, which reduced the car's beginning price. The base N6 MT is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, while the top-spec N8 DCT carries a sticker price of Rs 12.32 lakh. Prices are ex-showroom. At this price point, the 2023 iteration of the i20 N Line gets minor cosmetic updates, a new transmission, as well as a host of new features. Since the 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine was discontinued from the regular Hyundai i20, the mill&nbsp;is retained only for the performance-oriented i20 N Line but with new&nbsp;transmission pairings. The updated Hyundai i20 N Line has been spotted testing on Indian roads for the first time, only a week after the facelifted Hyundai i20 was caught on camera. It was joined by standard variants of the tweaked hatchback, with all three wearing a partial black covering to conceal the design changes.

<p>The i20 N line packs a substantial change over the standard hatchback. The first thing to observe is an aggressive body kit. The bumpers and side skirts on the N line model have been re-profiled. Other bits include a sporty spoiler with winglets on either C-pillar. The insides have been given a sporty treatment that is evident on the seats, and steering wheel.</p>

<p>The i20 N Line also packs a few mechanical upgrades over the standard car. <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/">Hyundai</a> has fixed 30 per cent stiffer dampers in the i20 N Line compared to the standard i20. The rear drum brakes have been swapped for a disc brake assembly in the i20 N Line. Hyundai has reworked the exhaust system and the N Line version of the i20 has a very raspy growl in its exhaust note.</p>

<p>The engine is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit – borrowed from the standard hatchback – that comes paired with a six-speed iMT or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.&nbsp;The i20 N Line puts out 118bhp and 172Nm, the same as the standard car, but the automatic variant of the i20 N Line gets paddle shifters that have been missing from the automatic variant of the standard car.</p>

<p>The Hyundai i20 N Line essentially rivals the GT variant of the Volkswagen Polo. The German hatchback packs a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, and a six-speed torque converter automatic. The Volkswagen Polo GT is priced at Rs 9.99&nbsp;lakh (ex-showroom) which is substantially lower than the Hyundai i20 N Line.&nbsp;</p>

The new Hyundai i20 N Line gets its fair share of cosmetic enhancements, along with a few mechanical upgrades. Hyundai will retail the new Hyundai i20 N Line through their Signature outlets. The company has started accepting bookings for the car.</p>

<p>At a token amount of Rs 25,000, the sports hatch can be booked at Hyundai’s Signature dealerships or the brand's online portal. An official price announcement has been scheduled for September 2, 2021. Hyundai will offer a standard five-year warranty, along with a three-year roadside assistance package. Expect the prices to start at Rs 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.</p>

<p>To begin with cosmetic changes, the i20 N Line gets a sporty bumper, with an accentuated lip. The grille has been redesigned, and the unit now gets a sporty chequered flag pattern. Similar bumper profiling can be observed on the rear.&nbsp;Also, there are sporty side skirts and a newly styled roof spoiler. The C-pillar gets winglets on either side, which enhance the aerodynamic abilities of the car.</p>

<p>There are N Line badges on the grille, fender, and boot lid. The alloy wheels are 16-inch in size – the same size as the standard i20’s wheels – and have a new diamond-cut design. The front brake callipers have been painted red&nbsp;to add a sporty touch. There are a total of six colour options to chose from, out of which two are dual-tone paint schemes.</p>

<p>Inside, the cabin features sporty front seats with chequered flag pattern – the same as the grille at the front. The steering wheel sports&nbsp;a new three-spoke design, with an N Line badge at the bottom. The automatic variants get paddle shifters, while sporty gear-shifter, with red highlights, is standard in all variants. The dashboard, door cards, and seats have a touch of red highlights too. <p>The mechanicals of the i20 N Line has been upgraded too. The engine is the same 1.0-litre turbo petrol three-cylinder unit that is found in the standard car and in the state of tune. It produces 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. The mechanical bits, however, are different. Hyundai has worked upon the suspension units and steering geometry of the sportier&nbsp;hatchback. Hyundai claims that the i20 N Line offers a stiffer ride and improved handling.</p>

<p>The standard i20 gets drum brake assembly in the rear but the i20 N Line gets the uprated disc brake units. There are two gearboxes on offer, a six-speed iMT and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. A proper manual transmission layout has been given a miss in the new i20 N Line.</p>

<p>The new Hyundai i20 N Line will be based on the top-spec Asta variant of the standard hatchback. The mechanicals will be carried over from the standard car as well. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol from the i20 will be offered in the same state of tune – 118bhp and 172Nm. The six-speed iMT will be a standard offering, while the higher variants of the i20 N Line will get the same seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that is found in the standard i20 and the Venue.</p>

<p>In terms of features, the i20 N Line will have all the in-cabin features of the standard i20 hatchback. The Asta (O) variant of the Hyundai i20 is priced at Rs 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom), and the i20 N Line is likely to cost a bit more. Expect the pricing of the Hyundai i20 N Line to fall in the Rs 12 – 13 lakh (ex-showroom) range.</p>

<p><em><strong>Get ready for some juicier-looking Hyundai models as the company has confirmed its N Line range of cars for India.&nbsp;The i20 will be the first model to get N Line treatment in the country,&nbsp;and it'll be launched soon.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></em></p>

<p>Enthusiasts, rejoice! <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/">Hyundai</a> has officially announced the arrival of its sporty N Line range of cars into&nbsp;the country. In a statement released by the company, Hyundai has confirmed that its first-ever N Line badged car in India will hit the showroom floors in 2021. Subsequently, Hyundai will bring more N Line versions to our market in the future.</p>

<p>Although the N Line cars will get sporty updates over their regular counterparts, most of the stuff will be limited to design and visual appeal. Don’t confuse N Line cars with the <em>real</em> full-blown N cars, which come with performance upgrades for the chassis, suspension, engine, and so on.&nbsp;However, it won’t be bad if Hyundai India decides to bring the N versions to the country later on. At the same time, if Hyundai decides to&nbsp;tweak the suspension, brakes, et al, for the N Line versions in India., well, that won't be a problem either!</p>

<p>The first car to be sold under the N Line sub-brand in India will be the i20.&nbsp;The i20 N Line is expected to feature a sporty N Line body kit, N Line wheels, different grille design, and wider bumpers at the front and rear, along with twin tailpipes – we’re hoping they&nbsp;pack a juicier sounding exhaust. Inside, the i20 N Line will get a similar N Line treatment – black seats with contrast stitching, N badges on the steering, seats, dashboard, and gear lever, and it’ll also get stainless steel pedals.</p>

<p>The i20 N Line will come powered by the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol unit as the standard car. Power output and torque are expected to be unchanged from 118bhp and 172Nm. At the moment, the regular i20 Turbo is only offered with either a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed clutchless manual transmission (IMT). There’s no ‘proper’ manual for enthusiasts on offer as of now. Most likely, this won’t change with the N Line version. We’ll be happy to be proved wrong though!</p>

<p><b>Hyundai’s new third-generation i20 is all set to get a hot version&nbsp;with over 200bhp and other high-performance components. </b></p>

<p>Hyundai has officially revealed photos of the prototype of the new i20 N being tested on snow. The car will join the company's range of high-performance road cars, which include the i30 N, i30 N Fastback, and upcoming Elantra N-Line.</p>

<p>The new i20 looks very contemporary, and an N version will definitely up the ante for Hyundai’s popular hatchback. In the press material released by <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/">Hyundai</a> about the upcoming i20 N, the company’s WRC driver Thierry Neuville is seen putting a prototype of the hatchback through its paces on a frozen lake in Arjeplog, Sweden, where he is also testing the Hyundai i20 WRC car and the RM19.</p>

<p>He commented on the new i20 N by saying, 'Very interesting car. Very precise. Very easy handling. The engine is revving nicely, and the noise is very interesting as well. I’m looking forward to getting this one to drive in WRC!'</p>

<p>While Hyundai is yet to reveal more details about the new i20 N, it is expected to be powered by the same 1.6-litre&nbsp;turbocharged petrol engine that’s powered the previous Elantra N GT Line. And it is expected to develop the same 201bhp of max power and 265Nm of peak torque in the i20 N as well. Transmission options, in this case, will include a six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed double-clutch auto box.</p>

<p>While the prototype looks similar to the standard car as expected, its camouflaged front and rear end hit towards a restyled front facia and rear end. Expect the front end to feature more aggressive styling, additional functional air intakes, lip spoiler, etc., while the side profile of the car will get new side skirts, and the rear of the car, too, will be restyled and gain a set of twin tailpipes.</p>

<p>The Hyundai i20 N is expected to ride lower than the standard car and will feature a quicker steering ratio, a different set of wheels, wider tyres, a stiffer suspension, and uprated brakes for the additional firepower it carries.</p>
