<p>Furthermore, the car&nbsp;received&nbsp;19.99 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP)&nbsp;since it lacked&nbsp;ISOFIX anchorages.&nbsp;During a forward crash, the head of the 3-year-old&nbsp;dummy was left exposed, and its neck and chest were not sufficiently protected.&nbsp;The 18-month-old child seat, mounted rearward-facing with the adult belt, successfully prevented head exposure after a frontal crash, providing complete protection. <p>The Triber has two front airbags as standard equipment, and it hasn't been subjected to a side pole impact test because it doesn't have side airbags. <h2>Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Scores 1-Star Safety Rating</h2>

In the back row, ISOFIX child seat anchorages are also included.&nbsp;</p>

<p>For Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), the Ertiga received 23.63 points, while for Child Occupant Protection, it got&nbsp;19.40 points. According to the results, the driver's and passenger's head and neck were well protected. The bodyshell and footwell were deemed unstable and unable to bear further loads.</p>

<p>Nissan Motor India has plans to introduce an MPV based on the Renault Triber in India. The Indian car lineup of the carmaker currently includes the Nissan Kicks and the Magnite. For India, the automaker will bring the 7-seater MPV, based on the CMF-A+ platform, developed by the Renault-Nissan joint venture. For the uninitiated, Renault India launched the Triber in June 2019. Powering the Triber is a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which delivers 71bhp and 96Nm. The engine is mated to both an AMT unit and a five-speed manual gearbox.&nbsp;Nissan and Renault are renewing their alliance and will bring several new vehicles to the Indian market. The collaboration will reportedly result in new SUVs, including the Renault Duster, which is anticipated to be a production version of the Dacia Bigster Concept.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The upcoming Nissan MPV is likely to come equipped with two engine options - a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit. &nbsp;As mentioned earlier, the 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol works with the current Triber. Speaking of appearance, the Nissan MPV will get several cosmetic improvements over the current Triber in India. Along with reprofiled bumpers and new wheel covers, the MPV might get a new front grille. The cabin is likely to get a new motif and fabric upholstery. It will feature a touchscreen infotainment system, rear air conditioning vents, and different storage options. Further, the MPV will offer a seven-seat configuration to buyers.&nbsp;</p>

For the unversed, the first-gen Renault Duster, launched in 2013, was discontinued by the carmaker in 2020. Renault Triber-based Nissan MPV to Launch in India Soon

Nissan Motor India is set to bring a seven-seater MPV, based on the Renault Triber to India. The upcoming MPV is likely to flaunt new exterior and interior changes over the existing Triber.

<p><strong>The 2021 Renault Triber gets a new variant lineup&nbsp;and the company has excluded most features that were earlier offered on lower variants.</strong></p>

<p>Renault India updated its most affordable MPV, the Triber earlier this year. Back then, the MPV was sold in four variants – RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ. The French carmaker has kept the base RXE variant as is; however, have rechristened the RXL, RXT and RXZ to RXE+, RXL+ and RXT+ respectively.</p>

<p>Speaking of the base Triber variant, its RXE variant now gets body-coloured door sills as opposed to the blacked-out sills. Renault has also deleted the ‘Energy’ badge from this RXE variant but continues to offer it on the variants above.</p>

<p>The RXE+, which is now the second to base variant, gets roof rails, body-coloured door sills and power windows for the second row. The air-con vents on the sides now get a chrome surround. This variant has also seen a major deletion of features such as air ducts for the second and third rows, cooled cupholders, chrome front grille,&nbsp;body decals, chrome surround for the instrument cluster and plastic seat rail covers. The gloss black accent on the dashboard has been replaced with a matte black finish. Additionally, the body-coloured ORVMs and door handle gets a matte black finish as well.</p>

<p>The new RXL+ (that was the RXT before) gets blacked-out Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVM) and the body-coloured sills. The list of features and equipment that are eliminated include a cooled glovebox, front seatback pocket for the second row, blacked-out B-pillar, Eco scoring mode from the infotainment system and chrome surrounds for the instrument cluster.</p>

<p>The RXZ – which was previously the top-variant – has been turned to RXL+. It gets the features from the RXE+ variant and&nbsp;there is a newly designed gear lever. The new RXL+ misses out on features such as Eco scoring mode from the infotainment system and blacked-out B-Pillar. Renault has also replaced the door-card fabric with plastic trims.</p>

<p>Most likely, Renault India has plans to introduce the Triber with more up-market features at a later stage in its life-cycle. Hence the brand has re-iterated the current variant line-up to keep the cost in check, as well as, make room for a new top-of-the-line RXZ variant. It is highly anticipated that the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which is currently offered in the Renault Kiger, will be soon offered with the Triber as well&nbsp;– especially with the new top-spec variant. The prices of these new variants are expected to be announced by the first week of September 2021.</p>

The 2021 Renault Triber gets a new variant lineup and the company has excluded most features that were earlier offered on lower variants. Read the following to know more about the new variant split.

<p><strong>For the model year 2021 (MY 21), Renault India has updated the Triber with creature comforts and new colour schemes. The updates have come at a marginal price hike of Rs 10,000 </strong>–&nbsp;<strong>15,000 across variants.</strong></p>

<p>The Renault Triber, a sub-4 meter MPV, made its debut in the Indian market in August 2019. The introductory price of the Renault Triber ranged from Rs 4.95 lakh up to Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the Triber was updated with an option of an automatic transmission last year, and this year the French carmaker&nbsp;has updated the car with new features and new dual-tone colour schemes.</p>

<p>The 2021 model gets a new brown colour, and the company also offers the option to have it in a dual-tone colour scheme. The turn indicators for the MY 21 have been moved from the aprons – it now is flush with the ORVMs. The Triber now also gets a dual-horn setup. For the creature comforts, the 2021 model gets steering mounted controls for infotainment and phone operation. The driver seat can also be adjusted for height in the updated model.</p>

<p>Mechanically, the Renault Triber continues to be offered with the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. The power figure is rated at 71bhp at 6,250rpm and 96Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard, but it can also be had with an AMT.</p>

<p>Less than a year after its debut, Renault has added three new AMT variants to the Triber. With the exception of the base RXL trim, the remaining three will now be offered with an AMT option. The lower-sped RXL AMT demands Rs 6.18 lakh. The RXT and the RXZ are priced at Rs 6.68 lakh and Rs 7.22 lakh respectively. All prices ex-showroom Delhi. Fully loaded trims get an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs and more. The Triber AMT has the same versatile seating setup that we have always loved in the car.</p>

<p>The Triber’s only competitor in the Indian market is the recently launched Datsun GO+. The Datsun offering ranges from Rs 4.22 lakh to Rs 6.90 lakh. The Japanese manufacturer, however, comes with a CVT option, that too only in the higher variants.</p>

With this, the Triber is close to reaching the 20,000-unit sales mark.</p>

Renault India begins Triber exports to South Africa

Renault India has shipped off the first batch of 600 Tribers to South Africa, thereby kicking off the exports of its sub-4m people carrier. The Triber is driven by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder VVT petrol motor that produces 71bhp & 96Nm.

<p>Renault has silently updated the top-end variant of the Triber with 15-inch wheels as standard. At the time of its launch in August, the company only offered these wheels as an optional accessory. Interestingly, despite the larger wheel, the price of the MPV remains unchanged at Rs 6.49 lakh.</p>

<p>Since the time of its launch, Renault has got good response for the Triber. A recent statement from Renault revealed that the company has sold more than 10,000 units in just two months. One of the primary reasons for the popularity of the Triber is that it is among the cheapest MPVs on sale in India. Despite being a sub-4 metre offering, Renault has smartly fitted it with modular seats that ensure the best utilisation of space. In terms of equipment too, the Triber comes reasonably well equipped. It gets projector headlamps, LED DRLs, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and above all, three rows of seating. Safety features include ABS, EBD and rear parking sensor. The Triber does miss out on alloy wheels even in the top-end variant though.</p>

<p>At the heart, the Triber sports the same 1.0-litre engine as the Kwid. This motor is good for 71bhp and 96Nm. As of now, Renault has only introduced the Triber with a 5-speed manual. An AMT is on the cards for a later date. The only real competitor to the Triber comes from Renault’s own sister company in the form of the Datsun Go.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/renault/">Renault</a> has launched the all-new Triber. Priced between Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs 6.49 lakh. The Triber is an affordable seven-seater MPV that’s offered in four variants - RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ. All variants come with a petrol engine, mated to a manual gearbox at the moment.</p>

<p>With the launch of the Triber, Renault is trying to infuse the style of a crossover with the practicality of an MPV. On the outside, the Triber features a muscular front end, featuring Renault’s U-shaped grille, projector lamps and a wide stance. The bumper compliments this aggression with large air dams and horizontal daytime running LEDs. The side profile is boxy, and from the back, it’s upright and quite van-like. Overall, though, it’s not a bad design.</p>

<p>Inside, the cabin features an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen along with a digital instrument cluster in the top-spec variants. Top-of-the-line trims also get power windows all around, electrically adjustable ORVMs, start-stop button, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, rotary ac controls, and more. The main highlight is Renault’s EASYFIX third-row seats, which can be removed completely. Boot space with all three rows up is 84 litres but increases to a whopping 625 litres without the third row. The Triber has a ground clearance of 182mm.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Triber comes powered by a new&nbsp;1.0-litre 3-cylinder motor that features dual VVT (variable valve timing).&nbsp;Power output stands at 71bhp, along with a peak torque of 96Nm. This engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, while a 5-speed AMT will be offered at a later stage.</p>

<p>Safety net includes dual-airbags,&nbsp;ABS and rear parking sensors&nbsp;as standard, while the top-end variant gets four airbags.</p>

<p>At the moment, the Triber doesn't have a direct rival in the market. However, it'll&nbsp;be interesting to see if it&nbsp;can dent the sales of traditional hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Swift, new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Ford Figo.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since the global debut in June, Renault had been rather quiet about the Triber so far. The French carmaker has now announced the launch of the car on 28<sup>th</sup> August. Renault claims that the cars have already started to arrive at dealerships across the country. Bookings for the car will commence on 17<sup>th</sup> August. Customers can book the Triber by paying a minimum amount of Rs 11,000 either on Renault’s official website or at any of the dealerships.</p>

<p>Speaking about the Triber, Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO &amp; Managing Director, Renault India Operations said, “We have a clear objective and strategy to accelerate our expansion in India, by doubling the sales volume to 200,000 units annually over the next three years. Renault TRIBER will play an important role in our expansion plans and will set new benchmarks in terms of space and modularity.”</p>

<p>To be positioned between the Kwid and the Lodgy, the Triber is a sub-4 metre 7-seat offering. If the design is something to go by, the Triber has more crossover cues than an MPV. Under the bonnet is the U-shaped grille that gives the front-end a wide stance. The bumper looks sporty thanks to the large air dams and the horizontal daytime running lights. The neatly carved out headlights promise good illumination thanks to the projector setup. On the inside, the dashboard is dominated by an&nbsp;8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen in the centre and a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Top-spec variants will get power windows for all four passengers, electrically adjustable ORVMs and more. The Triber gets what Renault calls EASYFIX seating which allows the third row to be removed completely. With all three rows up, the Triber has a boot space of just 84 litres, but it can be increased to 625 litres.</p>
