Full-fledged images of the 2023 KTM Duke 390 are now doing the rounds on the internet. The upcoming Duke 390 is the competition to the Honda CB300R, the BMW G310 R, and the Bajaj Dominar 400, and it is expected to launch soon in the Indian market, probably in the coming months as the leaked images of the new Duke 390 suggest that it is now production-ready. But, before its India launch, it will make its debut in international markets first. The upcoming Duke 390 is likely to come with some significant design revisions and feature updates. Besides, the hardware updates are also on the cards. Although the motorcycle has been spied testing on Indian roads before, the latest images that surfaced online give away some fresh details. Let's have a look:

2023 KTM Duke 390: Expected Design, Colour

KTM 390 Duke

The updated KTM Duke 390, as the images reveal, may be offered in a new paint scheme. The 1290 Super Duke R is the inspiration behind the Duke 390's new colour scheme. The new Duke 390's fuel tank is seen featuring a Matte Grey tank with orange and blue graphics. In terms of design, the fuel tank is edgy and is accompanied by extensions; the tank extensions get cut-outs for improved aerodynamics. The tank could come in a size larger than the existing model and hold more fuel. Moreover, the next-generation is also likely to receive revamped split seats, a new engine casing design, a reworked exhaust route, a repositioned coolant reservoir, and an O2-sensor on the exhaust header pipe. Other key design features will include the reworked trellis frame, a lightweight bolt-on subframe, and new gullwing swingarm.

2023 KTM Duke 390: Expected Hardware Components

Almost all the core hardware in the upcoming Duke 390 looks similar to the latest RC 390 and the 390 Adventure. It means that the 2023 bike is likely to be suspended with the help of WP-derived upside-down forks at the front that can be adjusted for compression and rebound. And the rear end may offer an adjustable mono-shock (rebound and preload). It is important to note that only the export-spec model is likely to get these exclusive updates since it is still unclear whether the India-bound Duke 390 will get an adjustable suspension or not.

In terms of braking, the significant change involves the positioning of the front disc brake. As can be seen in the latest images, the disc (with a calliper) is placed on the right side of the wheel, rather than on the left.

2023 KTM Duke 390: Expected Powertrain & Performance

KTM 390 Duke Engine

We expect the upcoming KTM Duke 390 to come equipped with the same 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that the existing version gets. However, the engine on the updated Duke 390 may displace more than the current version, which currently produces 43bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. This 373cc mill is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that is accompanied by a quick-shifter and a slipper clutch. But, the official details related to the powertrain have not yet been revealed by the bikemaker.

2023 KTM Duke 390: Expected Feature List

Based on the leaked images, the 2023 Duke 390 could reuse all-LED lighting and a TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity, which are available with the outgoing model. On offer are electronic aids that include a traction control system, cornering ABS, and switchable ABS. Also, the bike could feature a sharp and sleek headlight with DRLs and a new T-shaped LED taillight, as shown in the images above.

A price tag of around Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom) is expected.
