2024 KTM 990 Duke Prototype with Aggressive Styling Spied, Will it Come to India?

As you are already aware that several KTM models in the country have been caught doing testing rounds on multiple occasions, one of them being the 2023 KTM 390 Duke. A couple of days back, a test mule of the 390 Duke with a more aggressive design was sighted alongside the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. But this time around, a fresh set of spy shots of the new KTM 990 Duke has surfaced online, which is still under development. The prototype in these images was spotted in a black-and-white colour scheme, with KTM's signature orange on the front fork and soft panniers. Furthermore, the bike featured what appeared to be boomerang LED daytime running lights. Other design elements included a muscular fuel tank with split tank shrouds and vertically stacked projector headlamps. In all, the upcoming KTM 990 Duke flaunted an aggressive design, similar to the other KTM Duke motorcycles.

2024 KTM 990 Duke: Electronic Aids

A TFT display is also likely on the cards. Now coming to the list of electronic aids, the 2024 iteration of the 990 Duke is expected to come with all-LED lighting, wheelie control, ride mode traction control, ABS mode, and more. 

2024 KTM 990 Duke: Hardware and Mechanical Details

In terms of suspension, the test mule had WP upside-down forks at the front and an offset mono-shock at the back. Braking duties were taken care of by two discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. The bike rode on 17-inch black alloy wheels wrapped in sticky road-biased rubber tyres. Most of its hardware appeared to be familiar and was reminiscent of the KTM 890 Duke. In addition, the updated 990 Duke is likely to feature the same trellis frame as the 890 Duke model but could offer a different bolt-on subframe. As far as the powertrain goes, the upcoming 990 Duke could pack KTM's powerful LC8c motor.

2024 KTM 990 Duke: Will it Arrive in India?

Speculations are rife that the 2024 KTM 990 Duke could make its appearance in the international market sometime later this year. As for the Indian market, the model is unlikely to arrive on our shores. In terms of market rivalry, the middleweight motorcycle from the house of KTM will go up against the Ducati Streetfighter V2 and the MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR.
