Honda will globally unveil its first electric motorcycle on September 2, 2025. This move will mark a major shift in the brand's two-wheeler strategy and help position it as a strong competitor in the growing performance-oriented EV market. Currently, the bike's full specifications are under wraps, but the teaser (revealed during the debut announcement) showcased a camouflaged prototype, which seems to take cues from the EV Fun concept that debuted at EICMA last year.
The silhouette reveals a performance-oriented electric motorcycle, featuring a sporty and futuristic design. A wide DRL strip adds to the bike's aggressive front profile, while bar-end mirrors and clip-on handlebars give it a look inspired by sporty motorcycles. The high-resolution, large TFT screen provides a premium touch, possibly equipped with useful information like ride data, trip details, and alerts in a clear, easy-to-read format.

There's no confirmation, but the upcoming Honda EV is reported to offer performance on par with a traditional 500cc petrol-powered bike, setting expectations for a robust electric motor and instant torque delivery. Additionally, the bike is said to support CCS2 fast-charging, enabling faster top-ups and smoother long-distance usability. This charging standard is widely used in electric cars.
While Honda’s global debut of its electric motorcycle marks a significant leap toward electrified two-wheel mobility, its arrival in India seems unlikely as of now. The primary reason behind this could be the price sensitivity of the Indian market. A premium electric motorcycle offering the performance of a 500cc petrol bike would naturally carry a steep price — one that may not align with the preferences of the mass-market buyer.
