Harley-Davidson X440 Launched at Rs 2.29 Lakh in India

Harley-Davidson: The much-anticipated Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle has had its world premiere in India. The new Harley-Davidson X440, offered in three distinct variants, is the company's most affordable motorcycle to date. It has a starting price of around Rs 2.29 lakh ( ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 2.69 lakh ( ex-showroom) . The X440 is a product of a joint effort between Harley-Davidson and Indian two-wheeler powerhouse Hero MotoCorp, with the latter responsible for production and distribution within India. The Harley-Davidson XR1200 serves as a source of inspiration for the X440's design. The round headlight and teardrop fuel tank are both classic design cues of Harley-Davidson that have been preserved here, but they have been joined by more up-to-date features like a LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster, and more. The machined alloy wheels give the bike a rugged appearance.

Harley-Davidson X440: Design

As can be observed in the images, the new Harley Davidson X440 borrows visual cues from the XR1200. The round headlight and circular indicator are also trademarks of the Harley-Davidson brand, as are the flat handlebar and the side-slung exhaust. As an added bonus, the 3D logos on the fuel tank will spell out the new motorcycle's complete name. 

Harley-Davidson X440: Features and Hardware

All-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster with an ambient light sensor, Bluetooth connection, and more are just some of the amenities included on the Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle. Other features that stand out include voice-activated turn-by-turn directions, phone answer and gear position.

The new X440 motorcycle from Harley-Davidson has 43mm USD forks up front with a dual-cartridge damping system and dual gas-filled shock absorbers out back The company also disclosed that disc brakes are standard on the Harley-Davidson X440's front and rear wheels. The front disc brake is 320mm in diameter, but the rear disc brake's dimensions remain unknown. The motorcycle also has dual-channel ABS as standard.

Harley-Davidson X440: Engine and Transmission

The brand new Harley-Davidson X440 is powered by a single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. This motor has been fine-tuned to generate 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38nm of torque at 4,000rpm. This brand new engine on the Harley-Davidson X440 is connected to a 6-speed gearbox.

Harley-Davidson X440: Variants and Price

The new Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle comes in three distinct variants: Denim, Vivid, and S. The 'Denim' variant is the entry-level option, while the 'S' variant has all the bells and whistles. However, the 'S' version of the Harley-Davidson X440 costs higher at Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom), with the base model costing Rs 2.29 lakh. In addition, the mid-range 'Vivid' model costs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
