Hero Xtreme 160R

Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch the updated Xtreme 160R in the Indian market on June 14. The two-wheeler firm has teased the upcoming motorcycle multiple times online. According to the recent teaser, the forthcoming bike will have an aggressive design. The bike is further expected to have a sharper headlamp, a reworked fuel tank, and more. Features-wise, the new Xtreme 160R will reportedly have a Bluetooth-enabled instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation. It will presumably feature single-disc front- and rear-end setups, along with dual-channel ABS. With the launch scheduled for tomorrow, let's look closely at every update the new Xtreme 160R is expected to get for 2023.

New Hero Xtreme 160R: Engine & Gearbox

The updated motorcycle will also get an engine update. Instead of a 2-valve engine of the existing model, the revised bike gets a 4-valve engine. It is likely to continue with the same 163cc (air-cooled unit) displacement as before, but because of the new four-valve system, chances are that the bike will offer improved performance. However, there is no confirmation that the new four-valve system will boost the power or torque output of the bike. For transmission, the bike will have a five-speed gearbox.

New Hero Xtreme 160R: Styling

Appearance-wise, the updated Xtreme 160R is likely to have a sporty and aggressive design. However, the shape of the revised model will be similar to the current Xtreme 160R. The bike will presumably feature a new headlamp, a fuel tank, and updated graphics in new paint schemes.

New Hero Xtreme 160R: Hardware & More Features

Another significant improvement on the forthcoming bike is the USD fork. Hardware-wise, the new upside-down forks will reportedly take the place of the telescopic unit. It is expected to offer a more sophisticated damping and riding feel. There is no official information, but the firm might provide dual-channel ABS as an option and include it in the standard model. Aside from this, the new Xtreme 160R will probably come with a Bluetooth-enabled instrument console featuring turn-by-turn navigation.

New Hero Xtreme 160R: Price, Availability, and Market Competitors

The current model is priced in the range of Rs 1.18 lakh to Rs 1.29 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai). Although there has been no official confirmation, industry reports suggest the updated version may demand a little more than the existing model. The new Hero Xtreme 160R will go on sale tomorrow in our market and will compete against models like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160, and Pulsar NS160.
