Jaguar has pulled the wraps off the new and limited-edition F-TYPE Reims Edition that pays tribute to the D-Type's maiden 1954 victory at the 12 Hours of Reims (a French sports car endurance racing series). This win is said to be the beginning of Jaguar's 'golden era' in motorsport that went on to influence its sports cars ranging from the E-TYPE to the F-TYPE. Jaguar will build just 150 units of the F-TYPE Reims Edition, all for sale only in the UK. Deliveries will begin in March 2021.

The F-TYPE becomes the second model in Jaguar's 'Reims Edition' line-up, following the XE in 2019. It's been finished in a bespoke French Racing Blue and gets the Exterior Black Pack as part of standard fitment – this means the side vents, side skirts, the Jaguar lettering & Leaper, the surrounding grille garnish, the lower lip on the bumper and the 20-inch five split-spoke wheels all get a gloss black finish to contrast the striking French Racing Blue paint shade.

Inside, the F-TYPE Reims Edition features an Ebony/Ebony upholstery combinati0n and like the exterior, there's an Interior Black Pack on offer as well. As a result, interior elements like the door switches, door handles, instrument cluster finisher, etc. all get a gloss black finish too. To offer good value to customers, the F-TYPE Reims Edition has been pre-specced with options like heated seats, a fixed panoramic roof and a 'Climate Pack' that includes a heated steering wheel/windscreen and two-zone climate control.

As for the powertrain options, the F-TYPE Reims Edition goes on sale in just two configurations – the P300 or the P450 RWD R-Dynamic Coupé. While the P300 offers a 296bhp/400Nm 2.0-litre Ingenium turbo engine, the P450 R-Dynamic is powered by a 444bhp/580Nm 5.0-litre supercharged V8.

Last month, Jaguar had shown the F-Type 'Heritage 60 Edition' to celebrate the iconic E-type's 60th anniversary.
