Two much-awaited SUVs went on sale in India last month: the Honda Elevate and the revamped Tata Nexon. Despite the fact that each of these SUVs comes from distinct segments, several of their variants have similar asking prices. Moreover, it is important to note that the 2023 iteration of the Nexon is currently among the most feature-packed models in the subcompact SUV segment. With this, the all-new Nexon appears poised to outperform its competitors, thanks to its segment-leading amenities. On the other hand, the Elevate SUV from Honda is a brand-new product in India's compact SUV market, which also benefits from the Japanese carmaker's reputation for dependability. If you are planning your next SUV purchase, you might also want to look at these two potent options. Here's a detailed comparison between the Elevate and the Nexon to help you decide for yourself.

2023 Tata Nexon Facelift vs Honda Elevate: Dimensions

Based on its relative measurements, the Nexon belongs in the sub-4-metre or subcompact SUV category, and the Honda Elevate falls in the compact SUV segment. With a length of 4312mm, the Elevate extends past the Nexon, which is just within the 4-metre range. Only the track width distinguishes the Nexon from the Elevate; in all other respects, the Honda outperforms the Nexon. The Honda Elevate will therefore provide you with a roomier interior in addition to larger cargo space. But given that the Elevate is positioned one segment above, that should be obvious.

Given that the Tata Nexon must stick to the sub-4m rules, the Honda Elevate is certainly a bigger SUV, providing more room within the cabin as well as larger cargo space. Tata Nexon beats the Elevate with its 10.25-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, as well as a 360-degree camera, but the Honda Elevate outperforms the Tata SUV in terms of ambient lighting, automatic opening and folding OVRMs, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), comprising adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking. On the two SUVs, other features are pretty comparable and include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, LED lighting, a single-pane electric sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay Android Auto, etc.

2023 Tata Nexon Facelift vs Honda Elevate: Powertrain Options

No matter which variant you choose, the Honda Elevate is available with a single 1.5-litre NA petrol engine that can be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or, in top-spec form, a CVT. This unit is good enough to churn out a maximum power output of 121bhp and 145Nm of peak torque. For those seeking a cost-effective option, the Nexon facelift offers a 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit (118bhp/170Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel unit (113bhp/260Nm). This latest SUV from Tata Motors is available with 4 different transmission options: a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed DCT. The diesel version comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT.

Additionally, while being considerably more torque efficient, the Nexon's turbo-petrol engine is nearly as powerful as the Elevate's engine. Since the 2023 Nexon offers both petrol and diesel engine options, it provides more powertrain alternatives compared to the Elevate, which, as mentioned before, only offers a single petrol engine.
