Honda has unveiled a compact electric hatchback called the Super-ONE at the Japan Mobility Show. While the EV looks like an ideal city companion, it’s important not to get too carried away just yet, as the Super-ONE is still a prototype. However, Honda has confirmed that a production model based on the concept will debut in Japan in 2026, followed by launches in other markets with strong demand for compact EVs, including the U.K. and several Asian countries.
Since the prototype looks nearly production-ready, the same design elements are expected to be carried over to the production model. Read on to know about the design and other features in detail.

The Super-ONE, with its tall-boy hatchback design, looks youthful and well-packaged, promising pure driving joy for urban and daily commuters. It sits low and wide, featuring a silver grille flanked by round headlamps and DRLs, a boxy front bumper with vertical slats, flared fenders, and 8-spoke black alloy wheels.

The body’s main colour contrasts sharply with the blacked-out roof. The twin LED taillamps with edge-lit DRLs, a diffuser, and aero flaps complete the rear design.

The interior has a black-and-white colour scheme, contrasted by blue accents. It includes a free-standing touchscreen, digital cluster, two-spoke steering wheel, and a flat floorboard. The button-style gearshifter is also available. Expected features include adjustable mirrors, ESC, steering-mounted controls, a 360° camera, and traction control.

Honda has equipped the Super-ONE Prototype with a Boost Mode that temporarily ramps up power and torque. The car also gets 7-speed gear shift simulations and artificial exhaust sounds.
Honda remains tight-lipped about the EV's powertrain, but it’s likely to feature a single electric motor producing 118–148bhp and multiple battery options that could deliver up to 400 kilometres of range.
