The face-lifted version of the Hyundai i20 has been unveiled for the European market and is expected to make its way to our market soon, probably later this year if we believe some industry sources. According to the company, production of the face-lifted model will begin in the third quarter of 2023. The updated i20 looks sporty and fresh in terms of styling. Standard as well as optional ADAS functionalities play a crucial role in keeping passengers safe. Adding to this are a couple of new exterior colour options the new vehicle offers. These options include Lime metallic colour, Lumen Grey and a Meta Blue pearl shade. Being a facelift, the i20 is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine that is mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox. In the domestic market, the i20 is expected to be styled close to the international-spec version. Once launched, the i20 facelift will be up against the Tata Altroz, the Toyota Glanza, and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

Launched in 2020, the existing Hyundai i20 currently retails between Rs 7.46 lakh and Rs 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country. Apart from the i20 Facelift, the all-new Exter SUV, the Creta Facelift & more are listed among would-be launches in India.

The face-lifted version of the i20 now looks sportier than before. For that, credit goes to its redesigned bumpers at both ends and and a revised grille. The front bumper has been redone and now gets large inlets on either side, and there are some tweaks to LED daytime running lights as well. Meanwhile, the Hyundai 2D logo has been positioned at the base of the bonnet. The LED headlights, however, remain unaltered.

At the rear, the updated i20 sports a new design for alloy wheels that are 16- or 17-inches in size, along with a redesigned bumper. Adding to 2023 updates is an easily noticeable faux diffuser. Other than these changes, the car remains the same while retaining the creases and cuts the previous version gets.
