The Mahindra XUV 3XO is a new entrant in the sub-4m SUV sector, with a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a facelift for the XUV300, with a new name, more amenities, and visual enhancements. The Mahindra SUV competes with a variety of vehicles in India, including the compact Hyundai Venue. We have compared the XUV 3XO against the Tata Nexon and the Kia Sonet. Now it's time to pit this Mahindra SUV against the Hyundai Venue. The Mahindra XUV 3XO and Hyundai Venue both offer petrol and diesel engine options. The former provides two turbo-petrol engine options: 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (110bhp/200Nm) and 1.2-litre TGDi turbo-petrol (128bhp/250Nm). The latter, on the other hand, has a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine (82bhp/115Nm) and a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine (118bhp/172Nm). The 1.5-litre diesel engine is also on offer on both the SUVs, which produces 115bhp and 300Nm in XUV 3XO, and 114bhp and 250Nm in the Venue.

As you can see, regardless of the engine or fuel type you pick, the Mahindra XUV 3XO produces more power and torque than its Hyundai counterpart. 

With its petrol units, the XUV 3XO now has a new 6-speed torque converter automatic option. On the other hand, the Hyundai SUV's turbocharged engine comes with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission). The diesel engine in the Venue lacks an automatic gearbox, but the XUV 3XO's diesel engine is available with a 6-speed AMT.

The Mahindra compact SUV comes equipped with a 7-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 17-inch alloy wheels, two 10.25-inch screens, LED front fog lamps, connected LED tail lights, and Level-2 ADAS. In comparison, the Hyundai model has 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker sound system, and Level-1 ADAS and Auto-LED projector headlights.

The XUV 3XO dominates this category owing to features, including the largest 10.25-inch screens, dual-zone air conditioning, the segment's first panoramic sunroof, and a robust ADAS package. With its fair amount of special features, such as an air purifier and a 4-way power-adjustable driver seat, the Venue is no less than the Mahindra SUV.

Between the two, the XUV 3XO is larger in terms of dimensions. There is additional legroom within the interior thanks to its 100mm larger wheelbase than the Venue. In addition, the XUV 3XO's boot is 14 litres larger than that of the Hyundai SUV.

Mahindra XUV 3XO vs Hyundai Venue: Price

The XUV 3XO's price ranges from 7.49 lakh to 15.49 lakh. The Venue, on the other hand, is priced between Rs 7.94 lakh and Rs 13.48 lakh. Given this, the XUV 3XO has a reasonable beginning price than the Venue. Its top-spec variants, however, are more expensive, with the higher-spec AX7 L costing approximately Rs 2 lakh more than the Venue's highest SX(O) model.
