Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the facelifted Brezza in India, and fresh spy shots of its camouflaged test mule have now surfaced online, suggesting a notable mechanical upgrade – a 6-speed manual gearbox. Notably, India’s largest carmaker currently does not offer a 6-speed manual gearbox in its lineup. The now-discontinued S-Cross 1.6-litre diesel was among the few Maruti Suzukis in India to feature a 6-speed manual. Therefore, if the updated Brezza debuts with this gearbox, it will become the first model in the brand’s current portfolio to offer the setup, marking a shift from the widely used 5-speed manual and AMT options seen in models such as the Dzire, Baleno, and Fronx. Read on to know about other changes.

Spy shots of the camouflaged Brezza reveal newly designed alloy wheels, hinting at subtle styling updates. Minor revisions to the bumpers are also expected, which should lend the SUV a refreshed and sharper stance. Additionally, the slimmer side cladding suggests a shift toward a cleaner and more refined design language.

Inside, the spotted Brezza appears to receive a substantial upgrade in the form of a larger infotainment screen. This update will help it better rival feature-rich offerings like the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Kia Sonet. Other features, such as ventilated and powered seats, and a digital instrument cluster, could also be on the cards.

Meanwhile, existing amenities such as a sunroof, 360-degree camera, automatic climate control, and head-up display are likely to be retained.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to continue with the 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 102bhp and 139Nm. The CNG version is also expected to remain the same (87bhp/121.5Nm),
Similar to the Victoris, Maruti Suzuki may equip the Brezza CNG with an underbody tank. This could free up additional boot space, improving the cargo capacity of the SUV.
