Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift spotted testing with updated CNG setup alongside a mystery MPV that could be the next-gen Ertiga.

Maruti Suzuki has been spotted testing the upcoming Brezza facelift on Indian roads once again. But this time, the compact SUV was seen with another camouflaged vehicle that looked much bigger and taller. That second test mule has now sparked fresh rumours about a next-generation Ertiga or possibly a new electric MPV from the brand. With both vehicles running together, it looks like Maruti Suzuki is preparing several new models for India as competition in the SUV and MPV space keeps getting stronger ahead of 2026.
The updated Brezza may not look completely different, but the test mule clearly shows Maruti Suzuki is working on a few noticeable changes. The front and rear sections seem to have been revised, while the grille, LED lights and alloy wheels also appear new. The overall shape still remains familiar, which honestly is not a bad thing because the Brezza’s upright design continues to appeal to buyers looking for a practical compact SUV.

Most of the updates are expected inside the cabin. Reports suggest the Brezza facelift could get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system replacing the current 9-inch unit. Wireless smartphone connectivity and ventilated front seats are also likely to be part of the package. These are the kind of features buyers now expect in this segment, and Maruti Suzuki seems ready to bring the Brezza up to speed with newer rivals in the market.
One of the biggest changes could come with the CNG version. Spy shots seem to show an underbody-mounted CNG tank, similar to the setup already seen on the Grand Vitara. That may sound like a small update, but it could make a huge difference in everyday use. Most CNG cars lose a lot of boot space because of the cylinder, and moving it underneath the floor could finally free up proper luggage room for family trips.
The Brezza facelift is also expected to get a six-speed manual gearbox, which would be something new for a Maruti Suzuki passenger car in India. The SUV already performs strongly in the CNG segment with an ARAI-certified efficiency figure of 25.51 km/kg. That is comfortably ahead of the Tata Nexon CNG’s 17.44 km/kg. With better practicality, new features and improved usability, the updated Brezza could continue staying among the top choices in the compact SUV segment.
The second vehicle spotted during testing has become the bigger talking point online. Compared to the Brezza, it looked noticeably longer and taller, with proportions that strongly hint at an MPV body style. Even though the camouflage hides most details, the test mule looked closer to an Ertiga-sized people mover than a regular SUV, which is why many enthusiasts believe Maruti Suzuki could already be working on the next-generation Ertiga.
The current Ertiga still sells in big numbers, but competition in the MPV segment has become much stronger over the last few years. Rivals are now offering more features, fresher styling and better cabins, so an update feels necessary. If this turns out to be the next-generation Ertiga, buyers can expect changes to the design, interior and possibly even the powertrain setup to help the MPV stay competitive in the market.
There is also another possibility, and this one is even more interesting. Several reports suggest the mystery vehicle could actually be Maruti Suzuki’s second electric vehicle after the e Vitara. The company has not officially revealed anything yet, but testing both vehicles together hints at a much bigger product strategy involving petrol, CNG and electric models. Either way, Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming lineup is starting to look far more exciting than before.
