Maruti Suzuki Brezza Front View

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has enjoyed consistent sales growth since its official launch in the first half of 2022, and as a result, it has emerged as one of the best-selling small SUVs in the Indian automotive market. The SUV has recently received a silent update, which rearranges the Brezza's feature list, which is apparent from the brochure on the carmaker's website. The firm has also tweaked the Brezza's drivetrain by removing mild hybrid tech from the versions with manual transmissions. The compact SUV now comes with fewer features from Maruti Suzuki than it previously did. Let us take a closer look at what has changed, what's new, and what remains following the update.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Discontinued Features

First off, the electronic stability program (ESP) and hill hold assist – earlier, both features were standard on all models of the Brezza, including the CNG models – are no longer available in the CNG-powered versions of the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza's Smart Hybrid tech is what set it apart from its rivals. Since its debut, both manual and automatic versions of the Brezza have been available with the Smart Hybrid system, which includes idle start-stop, brake energy regeneration, and torque assist during acceleration. Now that Maruti Suzuki has removed this system from the manual Brezza models, only the automatic models are equipped with the Smart Hybrid system. However, since their introduction, the CNG versions of the Brezza never enjoyed the benefit of the Smart Hybrid tech.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: New Features

Maruti Suzuki is now providing three-point seatbelts for all five passengers, which is a small but essential upgrade in terms of passengers' safety. Interestingly, no changes have been made to the Maruti Suzuki Brezza's prices despite the removal of the above-mentioned features and the addition of three-point seat belts. The SUV is still available for a starting price of Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: What Remains?

Apart from what has already been mentioned, the SUV continues to have the rest of the features as before, which include a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, a 360-degree camera, an Arkamys-tuned speaker system, heads-up display, wireless charging, and up to six airbags.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza: Engine and Gearbox

Currently, there are four Maruti Suzuki Brezza variants you can choose from: LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. A 1.5-litre petrol engine with 102bhp and 137Nm of torque powers the Brezza. The CNG variant gets the same engine, but it produces 86.6bhp and 121.5Nm when running on CNG as opposed to 99bhp and 136Nm of torque while running on petrol. The petrol version of the car also comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox; however, the CNG variant only gets a 5-speed manual transmission. Depending on the version, the Brezza manual's mild-hybrid technology offered a fuel efficiency of up to 20.15km/l. The Brezza manual now has a fuel efficiency of 17.38km/l, which is a decrease of up to 2.77km/l.
